Talented media personality Aziza Hashim, alias Azeezah, formerly of NRG Radio and Nation Media Group (NMG) TV station, NTV, has officially joined Citizen TV.

A source at the Kilimani-based media house, Royal Media Services (RMS) confirmed to Viral Tea that Azeezah joined on Tuesday, October 3 and will take over as the permanent host of the 10 over 10 show.

The 'Media Messiah' will replace Willis Raburu, who joined TV47 in August after leaving RMS on Monday, June 26 following a 13-year spell.

Azeezah won't be alone as hosting alongside her will be Guddah Man alias Mega Hype Man. They will host their first show officially on Friday, October 6 and every Friday from 10 pm.

Here is the video:

"It's new, it's fresh with mad energy. Vaibu tupu. Mambo ni vulaii (we are live) on 10 over 10," the station announced.

The duo took to social media to celebrate their new milestone, Azeezah particularly being the happiest in ticking off a dream to host a show on Kenya's biggest TV station.

"A dream come true. I still can’t believe I’ll be hosting the biggest entertainment show in the 254! Enyewe God is great! This and every other Friday on Citizen TV Kenya, the baddest TV duo will be on your screens. Your Fridays are never gonna be the same again! Gear ni 5,"  Azeezah stated.

"The wait is finally over! Meet #10over10 Hosts on Citizen TV. Azeezah and Mega Hype Man," Guddah Man weighed in.

Azeezah's move comes close to a month after she announced her exit from NRG Radio after a two-year spell.

She penned a detailed message on her Instagram post on Saturday, September 9, recounting the series of events that had her start out at NRG on May 29, 2021.

Azeezah's debut was during NRG's breakfast show, meaning she was allocated a slot as the radio station sought to take advantage of the breakfast time slot between 6 am and 10 am which usually draws one of the highest listenership traffic in the country.

"On the 29th of May 2021, my life changed when I made my debut on a breakfast show on one of the biggest radio stations in East and Central Africa, NRG Radio (I still can’t believe my bosses actually trusted a young kid like me on such a big breakfast show  - I will always be grateful)

"I woke up every day at 3.00 a.m. without fail and gave it my all I also got to make magic and created an unstoppable mid-morning show hosting the biggest artists from all over Africa hosted some of the biggest events and grew immensely in my craft," she praised.

Azeezah however remarked that getting into NRG was no easy feat, as she had to wait for four years before landing her dream job.

On her first attempt, she made it to the top 40 in 2018 but unfortunately missed out on the top 100 a year later, though her persistence saw her navigate the competitive auditions to secure her place in the NRG radio family, persevering through the COVID-19 pandemic period which almost ruined her chances of bagging the lucrative job.

"I got to meet the best bosses who took so many chances on me on air and off air believing in me and constantly pushing me to be the best version of myself, I got to work at the coolest workplace and made great friendships and great memories (I even learnt how to dance lol)

"All in all, if there’s a place that I’ll always love with all my heart, it's got to be NRG," she added.

While concluding her departure message, Azeezah thanked NRG for the friendships and cherished memories she made while working at the station, affirming that "the industry is not ready for the Media Messiah (trust me!)".

Azeezah on Saturday, August 12 announced her departure from the Nation Media Group (NMG) TV station, NTV, after a two-year spell, after hosting her last show on Teen Republik, bidding goodbye to her supporters and fans who tuned in to watch her every Saturday for the two years.

She will now have the gigantic task of driving her hype towards stepping up 10 over 10's numbers on Citizen TV given that Raburu's WabebeXP show on TV47 has been giving it relentless competition.

The RMS TV station has been conducting test runs with various celebrities brought in to guest-host the show for several weeks.
