Content creator and influencer, Azziad Wafula Nasenya issued a classy response to a Twitter netizen who poked holes at her content which she termed as indecent.

The Twitter user named Brenda Makena took fault at Azziad's work, accusing her of posting content that bordered more on the sexual category than educational or informational value.

Azziad, who also doubles up as a radio presenter, rose to fame in 2020 for a viral TikTok video set to Mejja & Femi One's 'Utawezana', and has won many plaudits among the Kenyan youth ever since, all at the age of 22.

Makena had however confessed to the modern generation's way of appealing content whereby any photo or video that contains sexual content is more likely to go viral across the country than regular content on social media.

"The reason why I don't follow Azziad on any of her social that use her content is oversexualized and there is nothing to learn or any value added from anything she posts.

"Call me a hater, it's the truth. Sex sells," Makena wrote.

However, rather than fire a strong response to her, Azziad responded with class by encouraging her and her fans to do what pleases them and be themselves, as well as not let anyone else force them into something they will not like in the long run.

“You do you boo. Don't ever let anyone force you to do what you don't like. Stick to your lane and run your race,” she wrote.

Other Kenyans rallied to her defence, with many of them pointing out that she was simply securing her bag and earning more endorsements. One of them believed that she should not have responded to Makena, though Azziad defended by stating that she felt like encouraging her not to compare herself with anyone.

Azziad's rise to fame has been nothing short of impressive. She started out as a college student with a passion for dance and a dream of making it big in the entertainment industry.

With the help of social media, she has managed to turn her dreams into reality and become one of the most recognized personalities in Kenya.

With that rise to fame, she recently landed a position in President William Ruto's government as a member of the Talanta Hela Creatives Technical Committee, alongside singer Wahu Kagwi, veteran radio and TV personality Jimmi Gathu, actress Catherine Kamau and Esther Akoth (Akothee) as well as chairman and Churchill Show host, Daniel Ndambuki, for a period of three years.

Some netizens and politicians inclusive of Kileleshwa MCA, Robert Alai, questioned her qualifications and competence for the position, demanding that she reveal what made her deserving of the job. However, despite the criticism, Azziad has continued to pursue her passion and grow her brand, with her fan base showing no signs of slowing down.

"I sincerely thank H.E Ababu Namwamba and the entire Ministry of Youth Affairs, Sports & the Arts team for nominating me to be part of the Creatives Technical Committee. I am a firm believer in the potential of the creative economy as a fulfilling career and source of income, and beneficiary of the same.

"I, therefore, commit to applying my knowledge and experiences gained in the digital space as a content creator to support the growth of the creative sector and ensure that the vision of Talanta Hela is realized," she stated.
