Bahati Under Fire Over Viral Clip Of Him Driving 'Recklessly' With His Wife
MAK called on the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) to step in and ensure Bahati faces legal consequences.
The Motorist Association of Kenya (MAK) has demanded action against musician Bahati following a viral video showing him engaging in inappropriate behaviour with his wife, Diana Marua, while behind the wheel.
Describing the incident as “a blatant disregard for road safety,” MAK called on the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) to step in and ensure Bahati faces legal consequences.
“The viral video showing a musician licking his spouse’s foot while driving is a clear display of recklessness and disregard for road safety,” the association said in a statement.

The clip, reportedly recorded as the couple marked their wedding anniversary, captured Bahati driving a moving vehicle while Marua, seated in the passenger seat, stretched her legs across onto him. The artist was seen fondling her legs as the car remained in motion.
The video quickly blew up online, drawing backlash from critics who accused Bahati of pulling reckless stunts — commonly known as ragebait — to boost engagement on social media.
In its statement, MAK condemned the act as both “morally questionable” and a violation of traffic laws under Section 49 of the Traffic Act, which penalises anyone driving “without due care and attention.”
“Such behaviour constitutes distracted and dangerous driving – serious offences under traffic law. Failure to act sets a dangerous precedent that may embolden others to engage in life-threatening theatrics behind the wheel,” MAK warned.
“Driving is not a playground; it is a responsibility that demands full attention and respect for the lives of others on the road,” the statement added.
The incident comes amid growing public scrutiny of high-profile figures caught breaking traffic laws.
Just last week, Kibra MP Peter Orero issued an apology after his driver was fined for a road rage incident that went viral.
The footage showed Orero and his driver, George Oduor, hurling insults at CNN journalist Larry Madowo, who had blocked their attempt to drive on the wrong side of the road.
Oduor was arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi, where he was accused of obstructing other motorists and driving on the wrong side of the road, actions that led to the heated exchange with the journalist.
