Dorcas Rigathi Attends Fully-Packed Crusade At Kasarani Stadium [PHOTOS]

Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, the wife of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, was in attendance at Kasarani Stadium on Sunday, November 27, for a crusade which attracted thousands of congregants.

Mombasa-based evangelist Pastor Ezekiel Odera, who administers at the New Life Church in Mombasa, had managed to fill the 60,000-seater stadium to the brim; from the seats surrounding it to the football pitch.

In comparison, the inauguration ceremony of President William Ruto had only restricted the maximum capacity to the seats around the stadium, with many others following the ceremony from outside and from their homes.

The last time the stadium was packed in similar circumstances was during Azimio la Umoja leader, Raila Odinga's final rally before the August 9, 2022, general elections.

"Kenyans are hungry for God, and thousands thronged Kasarani Moi International Stadium for the final day of healings, miracles, and wonders during Healing the Land Mega Crusade led by Evangelist Ezekiel.

"I was privileged to take part in the praises, worship, and declaration of the Word upon our lives together with Bishop Pius Muiru and his wife, Reverend Lucy Muiru and also witness the healing and salvation of many. Kenya is a special country; do not miss this time of revival and great visitation by the Lord," Dorcas Rigathi stated in part.

Photos from the packed event had Kenyans on social media compare Pastor Ezekiel to Prophet Owuor, the only other evangelist in the country known for pulling gigantic crowds everywhere he goes.

The preacher's Ministry of Repentance and Holiness church has branches all over the country, a feat that contributes to the prophet pulling large crowds in any crusade he stages.

In February 2013, for example, all the big political players including former President Uhuru Kenyatta and his main challenger at the time, Raila Odinga attended Owuor's mega crusade at Uhuru Park where they pledged to have a peaceful election.

Pastor Ezekiel began his journey in Kisumu as a fisherman before relocating to Mombasa as a mason. He met Pastor Sarah after he was doing fellowships and looking for partners in church.

Pastor Sarah was a prayer warrior, and he met her while seeking assistance at her home in Mavueni, Kilifi County. It was here that they fell in love.

"Some of my family members informed me that Pastor Sarah didn't go to school when I wanted to marry her. She is not fluent in English. What will the large people say if you marry her and they show up? When I looked at my wife, I didn't see an English speaker but rather a lovely lady who can manage a ministry. English can't run a ministry," he disclosed in a past interview.

He was then informed by her father that he was given his daughter and her sister, but the man of God only wanted Sarah. She fled owing to her father and uncle blocking his attempts to have her but agreed to let her go when she returned.

"I had nothing when I went to ask Sarah to marry me. I was unable to pay for a wedding gown, a suitable engagement ring, or a dowry. I was given everything by my friends, including the fee to get me to her house.

"I won with a ring costing Ksh15 and two goats," he added.

The couple began NewLife Church in Shanzu and later expand and moved to his wife's home in Mavueni. They also bought large tracts of land to expand further.
