Peter on his part shared a photo of the couple and expressed their love for their departed model. The couple has adopted several young people who assist them in spreading the gospel.

The couple supported his passion for fashion by purchasing equipment for him to start his career as a designer in 2021.

"Glory be to God, to my dear parents getting parents like you by my side makes me what I am today. Thank you so much for supporting me unconditionally.

"Thank you for helping me to shape my life with positivity and passion. Without you, I’d never have been the person I am today. Thank you for everything, thank you for always praying for me and building me with the word of God One day I will make you proud. Bring your orders coming now," he said in a post dated January 2021.

Meanwhile, Chiloba's best friend was arrested by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Eldoret who treated him as the prime suspect. They also reportedly arrested the caretaker.

Jackton Odhiambo (Iam.Lizer), Chiloba's close friend, is being held at the Langas Police Station for questioning. He was said to have been living with the deceased in the same apartment before the murder.

The caretaker of the apartment, while giving his account of the murder, revealed that Jackton was spotted with a metal box in which the body was stuffed following the gruesome killing.

When he was informed of the happenings, he called the officer commanding the Langas police station where he showed up to record a statement.

"I called the OCS who asked me to show up today. I met with his friends at the station. They said the box they saw in the house was the one that came down at night. They saw it clearly. The one who had carried was Jackton, according to what they shared with me," the caretaker told the human rights activists following up on the matter.

After Chiloba vanished, Jackton continued to use the deceased's phone for mobile money transactions as well as several communications.

The caretaker added that Chiloba was a tenant at the place for three years, with his friend joining him a year ago. According to neighbours who disclosed to the caretaker, Chiloba and Jackton had fought on certain occasions but never got to encounter such confrontations, describing the late activist as a man of few words.

On Wednesday, January 4, he received a complaint from a neighbour regarding a foul smell coming from Chiloba's house, which Jackton said came from a dead rat.

"One neighbour had complained of foul smell and as the caretaker, I told him I would try to find out what was wrong. The smell was strong when I was in Chiloba's house when Jackton had indicated they were moving but when I asked what that could be he said a rat had died under one of the seats but had been removed through the stench remained," the shocked caretaker narrated.

Police had positively identified Chiloba after discovering his lifeless body stuffed in a metallic box along the Kipenyo-Katinga Road in Uasin Gishu County.

Bodaboda riders recounted seeing a vehicle with a concealed registration number dump the box along the road, a matter which prompted them to alert the police. When police opened the box, they found Chiloba's decomposing body dressed in a woman's clothes.

The body was not immediately identified since it lacked any documents but was moved to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue.

News of his death began going viral as late as Thursday evening, January 6 with an uproar caused the following day. The Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) and the Kenyan Section of the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) condemned the murder.

Chiloba's death sparked tributes from celebrities such as Makena Njeri, Anita Nderu, Chiki Kuruka and Michelle Ntalami who all condemned the brutal murder. Kileleshwa MCA urged President William Ruto to issue a strong statement against the murder.

A video later surfaced on social media showing Chiloba partying with a few friends at a club in an undisclosed location, with the same clothes he was wearing when his body was discovered.
