Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi on Sunday, January 8 fired at the LGBTQ community in Kenya following the gruesome murder of gay rights activist and model, Edwin Chiloba.

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Member of Parliament (MP), while speaking in his constituency, reiterated reports that Chiloba was killed over a love triangle gone sour, not because of his gender orientation.

Sudi added that he had taken note of claims by a section of social media users saying that Chiloba was profiled because of his beliefs before concluding that he was murdered due to "bad manners".

The lawmaker went on to condemn the LGBTQ lifestyle, stating that Kenyans and the church in the country are against it.

"There was a young man who was killed here in Eldoret because of issues regarding gay rights. When you follow that story keenly, you discover that he was killed because of having two boyfriends and he is a man, now because of the love triangle, they teamed up and said that Chiloba lied to them, and then they killed him.

"As leaders, we strongly condemn this lifestyle, and I'm sure all of our churches are against it. I had seen on social media the gay rights activists and lesbians trying to bring up the conversation saying that he was profiled because he is gay, they didn't profile him because he was gay, he was killed because of bad manners and as Kenyans and Christians, we condemn them," he said.

He added that even his community is against that lifestyle and called upon locals not to entertain it.

“Everyone should listen to me; our good Kalenjin culture abhors such evil culture. Our Kalenjin culture talks about children going to school, then getting married and having children and your children will do the same and also have children,” the MP added.

“Nowadays there are a lot of evil things going on that man and man are dating and even a woman and a woman dating...this is evil. those doing it if their parents did it, they won’t have existed.”

Three more suspects were arrested in connection to the murder of Chiloba and they included a cousin to the main suspect, Jackton Odhiambo, a friend and a taxi driver who were in possession of a metal box used to dispose of the body of the deceased.

According to police spokesperson Resla Atieno Onyango, the suspects were under the age of 18. She also confirmed that detectives had recovered the car, a Toyota Fielder, used to ferry the box, which was detained.

Peter Kimulwa, a Uasin Gishu County Directorate of Criminal Investigations officer, had revealed that the crime was treated as a love triangle turned fatal, as preliminary reports revealed that Chiloba's eyes were gouged out and he died of strangulation.

"Apart from the eyes being gouged out, there were no physical injuries on the body, suggesting that the victim might have died out of choking,” he stated.

The prime suspect, Jackton Odhiambo, had confessed to being driven to kill Chiloba after discovering that Chiloba had another partner.

According to Langas OCPD John Odhiambo, Jackton alongside his friends had plotted to execute Chiloba as a means of revenge after Chiloba cheated on him.

Jackton was with Chiloba partying at a club in an undisclosed location with the same clothes he wore when his body was discovered. A few hours later, a disagreement would ensue, leaving the gay activist dead.
