Popular radio and TV host Brian Aseli on Friday, July 7 announced that he joined the Nation Media Group (NMG), days after he left Standard Group Limited.

Aseli was unveiled as the new radio host for NMG's Nation FM radio station during The Trend show on NTV.

He later took to Instagram to announce that he would be presenting 'The Morning Fix' breakfast show alongside Mariam Bishar running every weekday from 6 am to 10 am, starting Monday, July 10.

"Breaking News! The most bankable host finds a new home @nationfm_kenya #morningfix. Weekdays 6:00 A.M to 10.00 A.M. Start date: 10th July 2023," he wrote.

Here is the video:

Aseli will take over from David Oyuke, who previously hosted alongside Bishar and seasoned media personality Monique Bett.

The "Most Bankable" host announced his exit from the Standard Group on Monday, July 3 after an impressive six-year journey with the media house, having hosted 'Youth Café' on KTN News and the Vybez Radio morning show.

"After six unforgettable years as a Youth News host at KTN News and radio presenter at Vybez Radio, it's time to say goodbye.

"Thank you for believing in me, for 5,000+ interviews, and for the memories that will last a lifetime. On to new adventures!" wrote Aseli, acknowledging the impact of his time with Standard Group.

He thanked Joe Ageyo and Kibisu Mulanda, his bosses at Standard Group, for giving him the opportunity to work at the media house as well as his colleagues Kevin Matara and Thandiwe Yego, with whom he shared countless memorable experiences.

Aseli's journey with Vybez Radio began when he joined the morning show, stepping in to replace Sheila Kwamboka, who had moved to Kiss 100 under the Radio Africa Group.

Having joined Standard Group in 2017 immediately after completing his studies at Daystar University, Aseli brought his talents and enthusiasm to the radio and TV industry.

Before his time at Standard Group, he briefly worked at Kubamba Radio, which unfortunately faced financial challenges and ceased operations.

In addition to his radio and TV work, Aseli is recognized as a talented voice-over artist, actor, singer, and stage director, showcasing his versatility in the entertainment industry.

Nation FM Changes

Nation FM has witnessed several changes in terms of its morning show, mainly touching on presenters.

Some of them who have graced the airwaves on the most popular time to listen to radio include Cate Rira, comedian Dr King'ori and Tina Kaggia, who had taken a break from radio for nearly four years after leaving Classic 105.

Kaggia left the show in June 2022, with Oyuke and Bett taking over as hosts before Aseli and Bishar's entry.

Bishar on Wednesday, July 5 joined the radio station, having previously been part of the panel on The Trend alongside Daddie Marto and Nick Kwach.

The new duo will be expected to bring a new perspective to the show, which aims to provide listeners with news, current affairs, and entertainment. Their addition is part of Nation FM's ongoing efforts to provide its listeners with the best possible content.
