Gloria Orwoba Threatens To Expose How Billions Are Spent On Sexual Favours In Senate
Her initial complaint, shared in a WhatsApp group, alleged that she had been denied official trips after rejecting Nyegenye’s sexual advances.

Responding to the court’s decision against her, former nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba insisted that no investigation had ever been conducted into her sexual harassment claims against Senate Clerk Jeremiah Nyegenye.
Just hours after the High Court ordered her to pay Ksh10.5 million in defamation damages to Nyegenye, Orwoba reaffirmed her intention to continue speaking about the alleged harassment she experienced and to encourage others within Parliament facing similar situations to come forward.

"I have complained to the powers that be in the Senate, including the speaker and the official WhatsApp group, that because I said I am not going to participate in his advances, I am being removed from certain trips, certain legislative agendas, and my bills are being put at the back," she revealed.
"Kenyans, ask for the travel report so that you can see how the billions of your Kenya Shillings are being spent in exchange for sexual favours and trips," she claimed.
She referenced a recent public incident involving a well-known woman MP who faced public embarrassment after being ordered to turn around and display her body, stating this as a key reason she remains committed to advocating for women's rights within Parliament.
Orwoba also alleged that rejecting the Senate Clerk’s advances resulted in a series of punishments during her tenure, including a six-month suspension and being compelled to issue an apology upon her reinstatement.
“I think because I said I won’t sleep with this guy or be part of his sexual advances, that is why I’m being removed from certain trips, from the legislative agenda, and that is why I’m being targeted,” she lamented. “No one has ever investigated since I said this guy is punishing me for saying No. Not even one single independent body has investigated and found indeed Jeremiah is innocent.”
Orwoba further alleged that the court’s decision was politically driven and influenced by individuals within the ruling party.
She maintained her intention to challenge the defamation ruling, declaring, “I am going to appeal this judgment that has come out.”
In the High Court’s ruling on the defamation case, Nyegenye received Ksh8 million in general damages and an additional Ksh2.5 million in exemplary and aggravated damages.
The court also directed Orwoba to issue a public apology to the Senate Clerk within 30 days; failure to which would result in her being required to pay an extra Ksh1 million.
