The Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) games hosted at Hill School in Eldoret entered day two on Wednesday, April 26 and enthusiasts were treated to drama and surprising results.

The highlight of the day was the handball game pitting Kamito against Mbooni which came to a halt after the Eastern-based school raised concerns about the eligibility of some of the opposition players.

After deliberation, the jury found Kamito guilty of playing ineligible players resulting in their disqualification and a two-year ban from the school games.

Elsewhere, Hillcrest International School bounced back from a slight setback that saw them forfeit their opening game to win 3-0 against St Charles Lwanga.

Hillcrest was late to the venue yesterday after their flight scheduled to land in Eldoret was redirected to Kisumu International Airport due to bad weather. This meant that they couldn’t make it to the venue in time as Kisumu is about three hours from Eldoret forcing the KSSSA officials to award the game to St Joseph’s Girls, Kitale.

In another event of the day, Butere Girls stormed into the semifinals in basketball after comprehensively beating Hon. DM Admin 97-4 in their second pool match.

In the other pool B match, Ototo Secondary from the Nyanza region beat Kaya Tiwi from Coast to boost their chances of making it to the semifinals.
