Kenya Airways Tops Africa After Making Debut In World Travel Awards
The World Travel Tech Awards celebrate excellence in the travel technology sector and are a sister event of the renowned World Travel Awards.
Kenya Airways (KQ) has been awarded Africa's Best Airline Website 2024 and Africa's Best Airline App 2024 at the 4th Annual World Travel Tech Awards.
KQ’s website (www.kenya-airways.com) was recognized for its user-friendly design and intuitive features, ensuring that travellers can access comprehensive, up-to-date information at their fingertips, according to a statement to newsrooms dated Sunday, November 24.
The recently revamped website includes a price histogram to help customers make informed booking decisions, inspirational travel deals, a trip planner for easy destination selection, and a responsive mobile interface.

KQ's award-winning airline app stood out for its ease of use and features that simplify customers' travel. From booking to pre-departure services, the app integrates innovative functionalities that provide passengers with a smooth, efficient, personalized travel experience.
Commenting on the recognition, Allan Kilavuka, Chief Executive Officer of Kenya Airways, said "These awards showcase our team's relentless drive to enhance the travel experience through cutting-edge technology."

The World Travel Tech Awards celebrate excellence in the travel technology sector and are a sister event of the renowned World Travel Awards.
The winners are chosen based on public voting, allowing industry professionals and travellers to support their favourite tech innovators. This marks KQ's first participation in the World Travel Tech Awards.
In addition to these accolades, Kenya Airways was recently honoured at the 2024 World Travel Awards, where it was recognized as Africa's Leading Airline and awarded in several other categories, including Africa's Leading Airline – Business Class and Africa's Leading Airline Brand.
The awards come at a great time for the national airline as close to a week ago, Kilavuka was appointed the new Chairperson of the African Airline Association (AFRAA).
KQ announced that Kilavuka assumed the role of Chairperson of the African Airlines Association at the 56th Annual General Assembly and Summit in Cairo, Egypt. This marked a milestone for Kenya Airways and Africa's aviation industry.
The appointment, according to the airline, is a significant development that will shape the future of Africa’s aviation industry. As the new AFRAA Chairperson, Kilavuka will lead the association for a one-year term, with the possibility of renewal.
