Over 400 Women In Viral Baltasar Engonga Sex Tape Scandal Risk Losing Their Jobs
He was arrested with regard to the saga in which he was alleged to have recorded the tapes featuring him with the wives of prominent people in the country.
The government of Equatorial Guinea has ordered the immediate suspension of all civil servants found to have engaged in sexual relations with the Director General of the National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF), Baltasar Ebang Engonga.
Engonga is a prominent figure in the country’s efforts to combat financial crime and corruption. Little was known about him and the Central African country in the continental space until a significant sex scandal erupted on Monday, November 4 involving more than 400 sex tapes that were circulated across the African online space.
He was arrested with regard to the saga in which he was alleged to have recorded the tapes featuring him with the wives of prominent people in the country. The scandal surfaced amid an economic fraud probe into the 54-year-old economist, with the videos discovered during a fraud investigation.
The ANIF officials discovered multiple Compact Discs (CDs) that documented Baltasar Engonga’s sexual relations with prominent women. It was alleged that these women included his brother’s wife and relatives of the President of Equatorial Guinea, including the sister, and a senior police officer.

Engonga’s office was the site of some of the encounters; one scene purportedly showed him having intercourse next to the flag of the country.
Vice President Teodoro Nguema addressed the matter in a statement condemning any inappropriate conduct within government offices. “Given the abuse that has been shown on social media in Equatorial Guinea in recent days, and remembering that ministries are solely and exclusively for carrying out administrative work in support of the country’s development, sexual relations in offices are prohibited,” Nguema said.
He added that “Control mechanisms are already in place, and anyone who violates this rule again will be subject to disciplinary proceedings for indecent conduct and will be dismissed from their job.”
The Attorney General’s Office, led by Anatolio Nzang Nguema, has since opened an investigation into Engonga’s conduct and the circumstances surrounding the leaked footage. The inquiry will reportedly assess whether any health risks were knowingly posed to others involved in the videos.
Furthermore, a government statement revealed that the measures were agreed upon during emergency meetings with the Supreme Court, attorney general and others, adding that those appearing in the sex tapes would be suspended, without providing names.
Those responsible for securing the buildings in which the videos were allegedly filmed would be reprimanded for failing to do their jobs.
Early Life and Education
Born in 1970, Engonga has built a career as an economist and public servant. He is the son of Baltasar Engonga Edjoo, a notable figure who serves as the president of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC).
