Prime Cabinet Secretary (CS) Musalia Mudavadi's daughter, Maryanne Mudavadi on Saturday, October 28 officiated her union with her long-term partner, Nyaga Karanja, a lawyer.

The couple walked down the aisle and exchanged vows to seal their love at St. Austin Catholic Church in Riverside, Nairobi in front of family and friends in attendance, including Mudavadi and his wife Tessie, who acted as witnesses and presided over by the priest.

Maryanne's entry was decorated with songs and ululations. Flanked by her parents, she walked down the aisle with flowers lighting up on the pathway to match the theme of the wedding.

High-profile politicians were also present at the church wedding, including CSs Kipchumba Murkomen (Transport) and Moses Kuria (Public Service) who were among those who shared photos from the white wedding.

Also in attendance was Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani Ichung'wah, who is also the Leader of Majority in the National Assembly.

"Earlier today, I joined the family and friends of Prime Cabinet Secretary, Musalia Mudavadi during the wedding ceremony of his daughter Marryanne Mudavadi at St. Austin's Catholic Church in Nairobi," stated the CS on his social media handles.

Maryanne was dressed in a shimmering white gown and a veil that perfectly covered her face. Her parents stood by her side as they pronounced blessings on the newlyweds.

On his part, the groom wore a velvet tuxedo suit as the wedding attendees showcased a variety of attire ranging from semi-casual dress code to formal suits.

The church they exchanged their vows in was enormous and beautifully decorated with yellow and white flowers. The wedding theme was yellow and white for the young couple.

Mudavadi, who also doubles as the CS for Foreign Affairs, was all smiles as he led the daughter to the altar.

On Saturday, August 19, the couple tied the knot in a flashy traditional ceremony popularly known as ruracio, at her father Mudavadi's Mululu home in Vihiga County.

The lovebirds had been keeping details of their relationship a secret for a while and were dating for some time prior to the ceremony.

The glamourous wedding that oozed class and elegance saw the colour green dominate the African-themed wedding as the groom's men, who included Davidson Wakairu, the son of Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe, donned emerald green attire from the shirt to the pants.

The man and woman of the moment would steal the show, with Nyaga donning a black outfit head to toe with a touch of green, overflowing scurf-like coat detail. Maryanne on the other hand wore a lace-green dress which accentuated her curves.

Guests complimented her appearance by dotting signature tawny brown dresses with white front buttons beloved by Central Kenya women during Ruracio negotiations.

The couple's wedding brought the sleepy village of Mululu to a standstill as flashy cars and thousands of guests mesmerised the villagers as they arrived for the event. From the decor to seats and plates, glasses and cutlery, the wedding is said to have cost the two families an arm and a leg.

Nyaga, a Kikuyu, married Maryanne, a Luhya, adding to the increasing scenarios of tribes intermarrying each other.

Maryanne has a glittering education and work experience. She graduated from the University of Sussex in Brighton, England with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2018 before acquiring a Masters degree in Human Resource Management a year later from the same university.
