Police Hunting Down Man Who Stabbed Ex-Girlfriend After She Dumped Him
The suspect, identified as Sebi Obonyo, reportedly stormed the home of the woman’s current boyfriend in Nyakbong’ village, Kamjulu, at around 4:45 p.m. on Friday

Police in Kisumu East have launched a manhunt for a suspect who brutally attacked his 24-year-old ex-girlfriend, leaving her with life-threatening injuries after allegedly targeting her for ending their relationship.
The suspect, identified as Sebi Obonyo, reportedly stormed the home of the woman’s current boyfriend in Nyakbong’ village, Kamjulu, at around 4:45 p.m. on Friday, according to a report by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
It is there that he ambushed her and stabbed her twice—once in the left ear and again in the chest—using a sharp object.
"Thanks to the quick response of neighbours who heard her scream and rushed to the scene, forcing the assailant to flee before confirming the worst," the DCI stated in part.

"However, a profuse bleeding was fast sucking her life away, and was whisked to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Training and Referral Hospital in critical condition. Medics are on her case."
According to preliminary reports from witnesses, Obonyo is said to have been enraged after the woman left him for another man.
His attack is believed to have been a calculated ambush, taking advantage of a moment when she was alone.
Police are actively pursuing leads, and both authorities and residents have joined forces in efforts to track down Obonyo. The community has condemned the violent act, calling for swift justice.
As the victim continues to fight for her life, police are urging anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward.
The incident unfolded as Kenya steps up its fight against domestic violence and the alarming surge in femicide cases nationwide.
In a bid to tackle the crisis, President William Ruto recently appointed a 42-member Technical Working Group focused on addressing gender-based violence and femicide.
Chaired by Dr. Nancy Baraza, the team is responsible for examining current trends, reviewing and reinforcing legal policies, and recommending concrete actions to curb the growing threat.
