Azimio la Umoja coalition leader, Raila Odinga, has told his supporters to prepare to boycott some products and services from next week, including eggs.
Speaking during Azimio's mega rally in Migori County on Friday, March 10, Raila announced his intention to red flag companies and products that should be boycotted by the coalition's supporters.
Among those products he mentioned include a local telco, specific foods not to eat as well as newspapers and radio stations to consume their news content from.
“Kenyans will exercise their sovereignty directly for example during mass action, picketing and boycott among others. For example, there's a local telco that is being misused by these people and our party leadership will issue a statement to urge you to boycott those products.
"We have said there are several companies that we know that are being misused by these people and we will tell you the companies to boycott, the foods not to eat, the newspapers not to read from, the radio station not to listen to. The boycott is coming," he revealed.
He went on to the extent of hinting at a bold plan for Azimio supporters to boycott...wait for it...eggs!
"There is a boycott coming...for eggs. There are several products that our party leadership will issue a statement on to tell you that we are boycotting these products," he added.
Raila reiterated his push towards his supporters to call the President William Ruto-led government to account, noting that the mass movement in Nairobi on March 20 was still on.
"I have said that I am ready to go on March 20. If I have to be eaten by the crocodile for it to rain, I am ready," he insisted.
Speaking on Thursday, March 9 during a press briefing at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation in Nairobi, Raila affirmed that all supporters of the coalition will converge in the capital city from across the country for massive demonstrations against the Kenya Kwanza government.
At the same time, he officially mobilised the Movement for the Defence of Democracy (MDD) which came into prominence on February 5, when Odinga unveiled the resistance movement during a political rally at Kamukunji grounds in Kibera, Nairobi.
