The Head of State forwarded his name for consideration by the National Assembly.

President William Ruto has nominated Bishop David Oginde as the Chairperson of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
Following his nomination on Saturday, March 11, the Head of State forwarded his name for consideration by the National Assembly.
"His Excellency Hon William Samoei Ruto, PhD, C.G.H., has, on the recommendation of the Public Service Commission, nominated Bishop (Dr.) David Adang Oginde for appointment as the Chairperson of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).

The nomination fills the vacancy caused by the retirement of Archbishop (Emeritus) Dr Eliud Wabukala, who served a full 6-year term at the helm of the EACC," stated Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei.
The nomination was preceded by a competitive recruitment process undertaken by the Public Service Commission (PSC).
At the conclusion of the exercise, PSC recommended to the Head of State and Government the appointment of either Oginde or former Makueni Governor Kibutha Kibwana and Architect Amani Yuda Komara.
An Architect by training, Bishop (Dr.) David Oginde is the immediate former Presiding Bishop of Christ is the Answer Ministries (CITAM).
He is also the immediate former Chancellor of Pan Africa Christian (PAC) University and a PhD holder in Organizational Leadership from Regent University School of Business and Leadership, USA; having previously graduated with a Master's Degree in Leadership from PAC.
Bishop Oginde also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from the University of Nairobi; in addition to undertaking Biblical Studies at the Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (Trinity International University) in Illinois, USA.
The celebrated pastor is highly respected at home and abroad for his strong reputation in forthrightness, and integrity, and his tireless efforts towards the promotion of ethics and virtue in society.
"In this regard, if the nomination is approved by Parliament, his appointment as the Chairperson of EACC will give Kenya a demonstrable champion of deepening a value-based culture in our nation; and one who has a long and successful career of promoting ethics, integrity and civic duty in many different spheres of life.
"His Excellency the President has transmitted the nomination to the National Assembly for consideration, in fulfilment of the legal requirements set out under the Constitution and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission Act," added the statement.
Bishop Oginde's appointment notably continues President Ruto's close relationship with the Church. The bishop's former employer had on Sunday, February 26 explained why it condemned the recent ruling by the Supreme Court of Kenya which handed a victory to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer or Questioning (LGBTQ) persons on the road to officially registering a Non-Govermental Organisation (NGO) in Kenya.
CITAM accused the apex court of delivering a ruling which was in contradiction to the existing laws that criminalize gay sex in Kenya. Additionally, the ruling had left it wondering whether other illegal practitioners like paedophiles and those involved in incest also have a right of association and if not, how different they are from homosexuals and perhaps criminal organisations.
The EACC chairperson is selected for a single term of six years, and won’t be eligible for reappointment.
