Speaking at a Global Conference, former President Uhuru Kenyatta said; “Africa is the last frontier of endless promise”; thus, this summit aims to position Africa as the continent where innovative solutions in digital finance will be found and implemented successfully.

“This is a summit for bold, visionary leaders who are willing to disrupt as much as they are willing to create, who know what to give up as much as what they expect to gain. Africa’s rapid adaptation of digital solutions places the continent at the centre of the digital finance discussion," stated CEO and MD of Glasshouse PR, Mary Njoki, about the importance of Africa being at the forefront of the digital revolution.

She further noted that the digital space has decentralized so many services that can be accessed from anywhere and this is no different from financial services.

"It means that from the comfort of our homes, and with the tap of a button, we can make transactions across the globe. As Africa arises, the continent is rapidly growing as a consumer of the digital economy and it is time to bring the discussion to the continent,” added Njoki.

The ADFS will comprehensively address issues affecting financial technologies innovations in Africa, policies and legislations that will guarantee a sustainable conducive environment for the uptake of these technologies.

It will also address the empowerment of current and successive generations, the implementation of blockchain and related technologies across Africa, and the future of Finance in Africa.

Also in focus is how African governments and the private sector can leverage the convergence of various transformational technologies in order to positively chart the trajectory of the socio-economic growth on the African continent.
