The body, stuffed in a green sack, was discovered by herders on Saturday morning in Makongo Forest—about 96 kilometres from where he was last seen.

The decomposing body of a man found in a forest in Wote, Makueni County on Saturday, February 22 has been confirmed as that of British national Campbell Scott who went missing in Westlands, Nairobi, last week.
County Commander Alice Kimeli confirmed Scott's death on Monday, February 24 and stated that a post-mortem would be conducted on Tuesday, February 25 at Makueni County Referral Hospital Mortuary to determine the cause of death.

Detectives from Nairobi, who had been investigating his disappearance, travelled to Makueni on Monday morning, accompanied by officials from the UK Embassy, to assist in identifying the body.
Scott, a 58-year-old senior director at a London-based data analytics firm, had been missing for nearly two weeks. He had arrived in Kenya for a three-day conference and was last seen on Sunday, February 16, walking out of the JW Marriott hotel in Westlands.
CCTV footage from the hotel captured him leaving and returning on Saturday, February 15, before walking out again on Sunday morning.
Scott’s colleague, who had travelled with him to Nairobi, became concerned on Monday around 6 p.m. when repeated attempts to contact him by phone were unsuccessful. An hour later, the hotel advised involving the police, to which the colleague moved to file a missing person report at Parklands police station on Sunday evening.
A police search, including visits to several bars and hotels in Westlands, provided no leads on Scott’s whereabouts. Before his body was found in Makueni, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) had even sought Interpol’s assistance in locating the missing Briton.
During his stay in Kenya, Scott was set to meet with officials from several countries, including the UK, the US, and other African nations.
A glance at Scott's LinkedIn profile revealed a steady rise in his professional career. He joined FICO, a data analytics company, in 2014 after previously working at another well-known firm, Experian. His biography highlighted over 20 years of expertise in "data management and customer identity and verification solutions."
FICO had earlier confirmed to The Sun, a UK media outlet, that their senior employee was missing but stated they had no additional information. "Please respect his privacy and do not speculate about this situation," a statement from the company read.
