Agano party leader, David Mwaure, has exposed how the Azimio la Umoja coalition led by Raila Odinga was involved in the chaos that ensued at Bomas of Kenya prior to the declaration of William Ruto as president-elect.

In a statement by the party on Tuesday, August 16, Mwaure noted that his party's chief agent and others had proof that goons had breached the national tallying centre disguised as observers but working as Azimio agents.

While condemning the actions of the party, Mwaure added that the goons who breached tight security at the auditorium designated as the national tallying centre were in possession of documents they had got from the coalition's chief agent.

"We in Agano cannot sit back and see schemes to disrupt the verification, lies and violence being allowed to take place in this nation. Our chief agent and others has evidence of goons who came in to the tallyng floor, disguised as observers but working as agents of Azimio and were carrying with them documents which they were getting from Azimio Chief Agent and corner.

"During the process and a tussle there a computer disappeared among others. This we strongly condemn," he stated.

He further clarified that the 46,229 Form 34As uploaded to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC)'s portal were tallied and verified by both local and international media houses and they were in agreement with the final results.

While again expressing his support for Ruto, Mwaure announced that the party was willing to write to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) over the matter and that they would challenge any petition filed at the Supreme Court seeking to invalidate Ruto's election.

"We are ready and willing to write statements with the DCI and to be part of and oppose any petition to be filed against H.E. Dr William Samoei Ruto. To emphasize what is in the public domain globally, 46,229 Form 34As have been tallied both by the local and international media tallying centres and they agree to the final IEBC results.

"Chebukati gave us six days of verification of Form 34As and all the agents of the four candidates verified all the Form 34As. All the Form 34As have been uploaded to the whole world and these are the forms with actual votes cast as per the Presiding Officers and the agents at every polling station in the whole country," he added.

Moments ago, the Elections Observation Group (ELOG) urged the relevant authorities to immediately investigate election malpractice allegations made by Azimio and four IEBC commissioners after the presidential election results were announced.

"The group is concerned at the allegations of lack of transparency at the IEBC made by four (of the seven) commissioners in a press conference on Monday, and other allegations from other sources," they stated in part, urging Kenyans not to prematurely conclude before any evidence is made public.

The commission also defended IEBC over Chebukati's decision to announce the presidential results amidst conflict brewing within the commission. Chairperson, Anne lreri noted that Chebukati is mandated by the Constitution to announce the results.

The Azimio camp through Raila's Chief Agent Saitabao Kanchory on Monday, August 15 claimed that the IEBC system was tampered with and the credibility of the results compromised.

Moments before the announcement, four out of seven IEBC commissioners led by the commission's vice chairperson Juliana Cherera, rejected the results, with Cherera terming their nature "opaque".
