Khalif Kairo Addresses Claims Wavinya Maria, Cera Imani Played Part In His Downfall
Many claimed that Kairo lavishly spent his wealth on the two ladies, showering them with expensive gifts and extravagant trips—frequently showcasing it on social media—while neglecting his car business

Popular Nairobi motor vehicle entrepreneur Joseph Kairo Wambui, alias Khalif Kairo, on Monday, February 3 denied claims that Cera Imani and Wavinya Maria, two women he dated, are to blame for the financial crisis that has seen his business struggle and clashing with clients.
The boastful Kairo has been in the headlines for the wrong reasons, with clients accusing him of defrauding them by failing to deliver vehicles as agreed despite making payments for them. The scandals have seen him land in trouble with the law, spending several nights in police cells and attending court sessions.
With his business in shambles, Wavinya, who had been by his side during the good times, had seemingly cut him off as photos of the couple were nowhere to be seen on her Instagram account, all traces of their relationship gone. In October 2024, Kairo went public about his marriage and revealed that he married Wavinya, a woman he had known for less than four months prior.
Many claimed that Kairo lavishly spent his wealth on the two ladies, showering them with expensive gifts and extravagant trips—frequently showcasing it on social media—while neglecting his car business, a decision that has since backfired.

However, Kairo, who spoke during an X Space session, affirmed that his current financial struggles are the result of sabotage by unnamed individuals who, he claimed, want to push him out of business to reduce competition.
He insisted that neither Cera nor Wavinya played a role in his downfall, despite being in such dire financial straits that forced him to turn to crowdfunding, seeking help from his followers.
"I feel like the women story is being blown out of proportion and I'll explain it in two ways. For the whole of 2024, I only dated two women. Before, I have been a person who used to have very many girlfriends.
"I'm one of those people that if you ever try and go and get my gossip from bloggers...you'll never find a situation where a girl comes and says 'Kairo is dating Wavinya' or 'Kairo is dating Cera but he was having an affair with me in the same period'. I'm a very straightforward person and I try to be very loyal," he divulged.
According to Kairo, neither Cera nor Wavinya contributed in any way to his downfall and women formed the least of his problems.
“It’s unfair to these two women (Cera Imani and Wavinya Maria) when you keep linking them to my problems. You need to understand that women are 0.05 percent of my problems. As I'm going on a date spending Ksh10,000...maybe we go and have a dinner...there is a company that every single month, we are doing a payment to Elon's X, Ksh400,000 in terms of adverts,” added Kairo.
While confirming that he and Wavinya parted ways amicably, Kairo revealed that his addiction to his work strained not just Wavinya but both his relationships.
"The problem of a businessman, women are not part of it. I was not dating them in the same period. We broke up with Wavinya in a very amicable situation. It has nothing to do with these cases you are seeing. The problem with me and my relationships is that I am a workaholic," he added.
The questions were asked following the conspicuous absence of Wavinya Maria online, amidst the life of the embattled businessman over the recent past. Wavinya on her part has remained silent on the matter. The two publicly showcased their extravagant lifestyle that entailed expensive trips to various destinations including abroad.
Kairo is currently facing fraud charges amounting to more than Ksh3 million. In all these cases, he is accused of obtaining money from clients for vehicles that he did not deliver.
The fraud case took a toll on his company, Kai and Karo Limited, in which he confessed that it went bankrupt and went ahead to put up a pay bill number, asking Kenyans to contribute to him. He stated that there are unknown forces that are working to bring him down.
"All is not lost however, I am directly appealing to my supporters, friends, old clients and associates to chip in whatever amount they can and give us a fighting chance against the unknown forces that are sabotaging my company," he added, providing a means of contribution on his post.
"This is not an investment but a donation. Once the dust settles, we will issue a statement and audit trail of how we will utilize the funds raised in rescuing our company."
He was responding to developments on Wednesday morning, January 29 that his WeFunder campaign account, which held over Ksh12.93 million (USD100,000), was closed the previous night.
