Celebrated rapper, Brian Ouko Omollo, popularly known by his stage name Khaligraph Jones, took his baby mama, Karimi Muriungi alias Cashy to court over a child custody battle that has been raging on between them for a while.

Khaligraph's management had opted to file a lawsuit against her at the Milimani Law Courts in February 2022 after numerous social media posts against the Mbona hitmaker threatened to tarnish his reputation.

The rapper added that he tried to reach out to her for an amicable settlement out of court after a long period of constant harassment by Cashy, but his attempts proved futile due to her "outrageous demands".

"Our artiste filed a suit in court against Ms Cashy Karimi in February 2022 at the Milimani Magistrate's Court. There are interim orders issued by the Court stopping Ms Cashy Karimi from publishing details of the minor involved, the case or the parties therein; which she is now clearly in contempt of," the statement from the management read in part.

The statement added that Khaligraph has restrained himself throughout the harassment and defamation of character as a result of the contempt of the order.

"We seek to state categorically that our artiste will not be dragged into meaningless online wars and shall await the decision of the courts which he commits to abide by,” concluded the statement.

However, Cashy responded in a statement of her own by revealing that they have been waiting for the hearing of the case since February 14, 2022, in Nairobi, only to discover that the hearing was postponed due to a missing file.

She claimed that she has been threatened with all forms of action as evidenced in a video clip which she had captioned to reveal that Khaligraph had hired lawyers to issue constant threats to report her to the police station.

"We have been waiting for the said access case since 14.7.2022. Patiently waited for a hearing that was postponed because the file went missing last week.

"As we wait for the next date, is it fair for the child to be out of school? This is painful and traumatizing for the child and the mother considering the aggressive parties benefit from her 'silence'," a post on Cashy's Insta Stories read in part.

Prior to the response, Cashy complained that the rapper had asked her son, Xolani, to travel to Nairobi to attend a better school, only to go silent on his arrival. In addition, she accused Khaligraph of leaving her and her son stranded for two months with no interest in the access requested.

She added that as a result, Xolani has been out of school for the past term and a half.

“What’s the point of having a child out of school for a term and a half, while all others have reported back; despite the mother being in compliance and following all necessary methods, with limited means?

“Why give such unfair conditions, in order for the child to be in the suggested schools? What’s the point of delaying a legal case internationally and threatening the mother with arrest…constantly?" she posed.

Cashy also alleged that much pressure was being put on her to hand over her son to be taken care of “by a woman younger than her and who is handling her young children all under the age of four”.

Khaligraph is currently in a committed relationship with 22-year-old Georgina Muteti and they have children together.
