Omondi also took his followers back to when Kuria fought for his company, Big Tyme Productions, during the period when many people called for its offices to be closed down.

He added that Kuria still keeps in touch with him to check on him and the youth he supported through internships and job opportunities at his TV station, to which he was a witness.

"With his Fanaka TV he supported numerous youths through employment and Internships, this I witnessed. Moses calls me at least twice every month just to ask "vijana wako Aje? (How are the youth)".

"What's my point? I am happy because I know if there is anyone who will deliver in matters of governance and trade for this nation, Moses will be that man. He has touched base with the young Entrepreneurs of this nation and understands the role perfectly," he added while thanking President William Ruto for nominating him.

On his part, Chipukeezy had recalled that he was introduced to Kuria by Omondi who was also scheduled to fly to the American nation. The trip coincided with his plans to quit Kiss FM under Radio Africa Group as well as Kuria’s plans to launch his TV station.

“He called his office and told them to help me by writing a letter, including me in his team and we went with him to the US Embassy for interviews,” Chipukeezy recalled in a recent interview on the Iko Nini podcast

At the time the MP was planning to launch his TV station by inviting US comedian and media personality Trevor Noah to perform in the country, so he asked Eric Omondi and Chipukeezy to travel ahead and establish contact while he paid for their travel and accommodation for five days.

Efforts to get Trevor Noah to come to Kenya however did not bear fruit.

The trip gave Chipukeezy the confidence to call it quits in radio and focus on his comedy career which was already paying him more than his radio job at the station. He however faced resistance from his boss, Patrick Quarcoo and his colleagues before he got his visa to the US where he penned his resignation letter.
