UPDATE: The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has suspended six teachers from Itumbe DOK Primary School in Kisii accused of forcing pupils to perform mock sex as a form of punishment.

They will be suspended indefinitely pending the conclusion of investigations by police officers. If they are found guilty, they will be subjected to disciplinary action as announced earlier by Education CS Ezekiel Machogu.

"When we went to the school, we established that the institution was the source of the video. One of the teachers confessed that she shared the same clip with her colleague," police disclosed.

The video reportedly was shared around the teaching fraternity at the school and neighbouring schools before it went viral.

Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ezekiel Machogu has promised disciplinary action on six teachers from Itumbe DOK Primary School in Kisii accused of forcing pupils to perform mock sex.

In a video that sparked public uproar on Wednesday, February 1, the teachers compelled the young boys in school uniform to perform a mock sex exercise while lying on top of each other as teachers laugh out loud in the background.

The 29-second video clip showed the four boys imitating a sexual intercourse process, done in pairs where the voices of three teachers (one male and two female) are heard. They are seated outside on plastic chairs with one female teacher covering her legs with green clothing.

They seemed entertained by the pupils’ act and they threaten to beat them in the event they do not demonstrate to them.

Naye bono kora bwango, baasi. Hahaaaaahaaa. Naaye kora bo. Toorokia bwango kora mara omwana onde orosire, manya inatagete kogoita nkoimokinde naende omote,” (You too do it fast and show us. I did not want to beat you but you are forcing me to do so),” one of the teachers is heard saying.

Nyamache Sub-County Director Linet Onduso revealed that six teachers were arrested over the incident.

Angelicia Joseph, Moraa Nyairo, Catherine Mokaya, William Isoka, Everline Moraa, and Gladys Kenyanya are all helping the police to carry out the investigations.

Nyamache Sub-county police boss Kipkemoi Kipkulei also affirmed that the teachers' phones were confiscated to investigate what they intended to do with the videos they recorded.

“We have confiscated their phones. We questioned them and they told us that one pupil had reported them about what they were doing at break time. That they only wanted them to demonstrate to them what they were doing," Kipkulei stated.

“The Ministry officials are the ones to tell us what to do. We are questioning all the teachers at that school. Five of them are female and one is male. The ministry will guide us in whatever way possible. We are also aware that we cannot afford to paralyse learning at that school."

Furthermore, Machogu has promised that the teachers would also be dismissed if found guilty of the crimes levelled against them.

The video sparked uproar from Kenyans across the divide as the majority called for action on the Ministry of Education regarding the behaviours which placed Kisii on nationwide headlines again for bizarre acts and murders.
