Mombasa Governor Abdullswamad Nassir Presents Self To DCI: No One Is Above The Law
Nassir went on to affirm that he would be willing to present his mother to the police if needed.

Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir on Thursday, October 3, presented himself to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) in Mombasa to record a statement regarding the brutal sexual assault of Mombasa blogger Bruce John.
Speaking to the media after recording a statement, the governor clarified that he presented himself voluntarily contrary to reports that he was summoned. Though acknowledging that his name had been mentioned in the attack on the blogger, he maintained that he did not have anything to do with it.
Nassir went on to affirm that he would be willing to present his mother to the police if needed.
“I brought myself here on my own will because there is no one above the law. That cannot be. I have brought myself here as an example,” he told the press.

"This is not about me. This is about a young man and we need to get to the bottom of this. I have told them that if they require my mother, by all means, I will bring her. All the information they required I provided it."
On the other hand, he called on any individual with information regarding the attack to report the matter to the police.
The county boss went on to urge that "I have asked the DCI to expedite this case so that we get to know what happened. Of course, I condemn the attack" so that the truth about who orchestrated and planned the attack is known.
"These are things that we do not want to see not only in Mombasa but everywhere in the country," he continued.
The 24-year-old was allegedly abducted on September 12 by a group of about 20 county officers from his home in Bamburi. Beforehand, Bruce recorded a TikTok Video criticizing the Governor both in his personal life and his leadership style as well before the ordeal.
The group reportedly assaulted and sodomised him before leaving him at a dump site. He revealed they forced him to apologise for criticising the Mombasa County government.
The youth abducted him under the guise of being taken to apologise to the governor, but they would never make it to see him. Bruce was tortured and gang-raped with the entire ordeal captured on camera with a threat to release the footage if he was ever to speak on it.
Four people, Muthoni John (alias Totoo), Violet Adera (alias Vayoo), Abdul Hassan Athman (alias Sindimba), and Haji Babu Ndau Mohamed (alias Achkobe), were initially arrested on Thursday in connection with the conspiracy to abduct and abuse the blogger.
The court heard that the four abducted the blogger at the Bamburi Jitegemee area in Kisauni. Two of the suspects faced further charges of injuring the victim using blows and kicks.
