ODM Official Rejects Ruto's Appointment To Top Govt Post
Ruto appointed Bosier as the non-executive chairperson of the Board of Directors of the NTSA.

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) National Treasurer Timothy Bosire has reportedly declined President William Ruto’s appointment as the non-executive chairperson of the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) board.
Explaining his decision on Saturday, January 18, Bosire, a former Kitutu Masaba Member of Parliament (MP), revealed that he held consultations before deciding that he would not accept the appointment.
“After consultations with a section of leadership, my family and friends, I have reached a conclusion that I have to decline this appointment. I thank the appointing authority, President William Ruto for his consideration," Bosire told Nation.Africa.
Via a gazette notice published on Friday, January 17, Ruto appointed Bosier as the non-executive chairperson of the Board of Directors of the NTSA. He would hold the post for three years.

Bosire's decision comes hours after former nominated senator Millicent Omanga landed a state position, months after she explained on October 26, 2024, why she turned down President Ruto's appointment to serve at the Nairobi Rivers Commission.
Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya picked Omanga as a member of the Board of Directors of Kenya Shipyard Limited.
Omanga, fondly known as Mama Miradi, issued a statement on Saturday, October 26 explaining why she rejected the government appointment. She thanked the President for entrusting her with the role of a member of the commission, one she viewed as vital in restoring the environment and public health of the capital city.
However, she revealed that she rejected the appointment respectfully, due to personal reasons she did not further elaborate on.
"I’m deeply honoured and grateful to H.E William Ruto for the trust you’ve shown in appointing me to serve on the Nairobi Rivers Commission. It’s truly a privilege to be considered for such a vital role in improving our beloved Nairobi’s environment and public health. After careful consideration, I must respectfully DECLINE the appointment due to personal reasons," she announced.
President Ruto appointed the former nominated Senator to serve as a member of the Nairobi Rivers Commission. The commission, chaired by former Starehe MP Bishop Margaret Wanjiru, was established to oversee the restoration and rehabilitation of Nairobi's rivers.
Earlier this month, Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) Margaret Nyambura Ndung'u rejected President Ruto's nomination as Kenya’s High Commissioner to Ghana, citing personal and family obligations.
Hussein Tene Debasso rejected President Ruto's appointment as a member of the National Youth Service Council, up to February 9, 2026, with effect from November 15, 2024.
