The top People’s Choice Award in the Favourite Radio Category went to Standard Group Limited's Radio Maisha, its fifth such award in a row.

Radio 47's sister TV station, TV47, under Cape Media Limited, emerged as the best station in the Commercial Free To Air TV category, better than the likes of Citizen TV and Ramogi TV under RMS.

"Your exceptional programming and dedication to delivering quality content have truly made a mark. Well done!" CA stated.

In the Nairobi region broadcasting category, RMS won Gold for the Ubuntu award.

The favourite pay TV service award went to GoTV while Star Times clinched the runner-up position followed by DSTV.

The People’s Choice Award under Kenya’s favourite online content creators went to Abel Mutua, Mike Muchiri, Crazy Kennar, and Blessed Njugush with each walking away with a Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze trophy respectively.

“For the first time in the history of the KUZA Awards, we have included a new category that recognizes content creators who are creating impact through their creative works. We believe that through this approach, we can inspire a new generation of content creators who will take the business to greater heights,” stated Ezra Chiloba, the Director General of the Communications Authority (CA).

“These awards also demonstrate the value of collaboration across sectors in the country as a way of enhancing synergy and cohesion. We continue to work closely with other government agencies, especially on cross-cutting issues in the broadcasting industry and in the success of the KUZA Awards,” he added.

On his part, CS Ababu Namwamba termed the expansion of the awards to recognise online content creators as a great step in the right direction in supporting the creative economy as a platform for job creation and expression of our national pride.

Akili Kids was also feted for promoting the observance of children's welfare in broadcasting services while the late Francis Wangusi received a posthumous award for "making a significant contribution to Kenya's broadcasting industry."

"Thanks to his leadership, Kenya gained recognition as a leader in the ICT space, receiving global acclaim for its groundbreaking ICT innovations. As a result of his leadership, Kenyans now enjoy the benefits brought about by ICT services," said the KUZA Awards judges.

The KUZA Broadcasting Awards is an initiative by the body to recognise and fete excellence in broadcasting, launched in 2017.

As of 2022, the awards included 19 categories. Remarkably, at this year's awards digital content creators were feted, as a move by CA to acknowledge the impact of digital media in the country.
