Former Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko, has disclosed shocking details of Baby Sagini's medical report which showed that the three-year-old boy was sodomised.

In a statement on Wednesday, December 21, Sonko also revealed that Baby Sagini's sister, Shantel, who is older than him, was found to have been defiled several times.

He explained that he decided to reveal the details of their medical records despite advice to keep them confidential because he was hurt by the developments in his capacity as a parent.

"I’m really saddened again by the latest news I have received and which I’m just about to share with you. I have been working closely with the MP Kitutu Chache Hon. Japhet Nyakundi and the Esnahs Nyaramba who's working on Baby Sagini.

"Now Sagini’s sister, Shantel who is only seven years old, has also come into the picture through the information we earlier gathered today from the ground and upon further investigation and tests it has been confirmed that Shantel has been molested severally and is now "sick"," Sonko stated.

According to the former county boss, Baby Sagini has been sodomised and has tested positive for a Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) which is being treated.

"What kind of animosity is this? How do people live with themselves after such deeds to innocent children? I swear I will get to the bottom of this!

"Once again Hon. Japho, Madam Nyaramba and Hon. Osoro keep it up for the support you have been giving to these kids," he added.

The medical report was released after Sonko took over Baby Sagini's case, revealing plans to fly him to China for advanced treatment.

Sonko revealed that he had carried out research on the best hospital in the Asian country that would facilitate his emergency treatment and found one that specialises in eye implants. According to a report by USA Today, the implants are a precursor to fitting the boy with prosthetic eyes that will look and move more like normal eyes but do not restore vision.

When Sonko contacted the hospital, he was informed that Baby Sagini needs to have referrals from at least two Kenyan hospitals before it can consider him for the advanced treatment.

"I have this afternoon conducted thorough research on which is the best hospital that can at least attend to Baby Sagini's emergency case and found there's a hospital in Shenzhen, South China called Dennis Lam Eye Hospital which does eye implants.

"However, after contacting the hospital we were advised Baby Sagini must have a referral from at least two Kenyan hospitals. We went ahead and booked an appointment for him to be reviewed at the Westlands laser eye hospital on Wednesday (December 21) where Doctor Kishor will attend to him," he stated in part.

The Chinese hospital had conducted an operation on a six-year-old boy whose eyes were gouged out in similar circumstances by fitting him with implants, navigation sensors that would allow the boy to get around on his own in familiar places.

Sonko previously offered a Ksh400,000 reward to any police officer who would track down and eliminate the gang members responsible as well as Ksh200,000 to any member of the public who would offer police leads and assist in tracking the gang.

So far, Baby Sagini's mother, cousin and the cousin's mother have been arrested in connection to the incident which saw the child's eyes gouged out.
