Azimio la Umoja leader, Raila Odinga on Friday, May 3 came out guns blazing against President William Ruto's Cabinet and the whole government in general for among other things, the handling of the ongoing floods in the country.
Speaking at an event to donate food items to flood victims in Embakasi South, Raila accused Ruto of making erroneous appointments to highly important positions in the country, perhaps attributing them to the current problems Kenyans were made to deal with.
He appeared to single out Agriculture Cabinet Secretary (CS) Mithika Linturi over the fake fertiliser saga and Education CS Ezekiel Machogu for recent matters regarding the reopening of schools amidst the flooding situation, including a late-night statement.

"There are people like Linturi...there are others who like roaming helter-skelter, you know them? They don't know if they are going or coming back, that's why we have a problem.
"There's one called Kithure Kindiki and another called Machogu. Compare Machogu and Magoha, do you see the difference? It's like day and night. Someone comes and tells you he or she is a CS for Health, another for Education, another for Public Service...all of them are useless," he criticised.
Raila believed that Ruto was incompetent to wield the powers of the Head of State, close to two years into his term, likening him to a driver who has no idea how to operate a vehicle.
"There is a problem in that we have a driver who doesn't know where the steering is. He doesn't know where the gears are, not even the clutch...that is why Kenya has a problem. The cost of living has still gone up very much," he added.
He did not stop there. Raila took a swipe at Ruto for ordering the demolition of structures at the Mukuru Kwa Ruben in Nairobi, demanding that the Head of State compels the Ministry of Interior to put a stop to the demolitions in the riparian lands of the Mukuru kwa Ruben.
The former Prime Minister vowed to resist the government's decision to demolish houses in the Mukuru areas, noting it was against the will of the people.
"These people should not demolish houses in Mukuru kwa Njenga, if they try to do so call us. If they want to relocate people, first they should build good houses for them before demolishing them.
"There is no need to demolish people's homes when there is no place for them to go, citizens are not animals,” said Raila.
Raila who accused the government of inhumane treatment for its decision on evicting the residents, claimed the government could have put up adequate measures before embarking on the evictions.
Odinga further urged the head of state to immediately declare the current flooding menace a national disaster since thousands of people had been directly impacted, arguing that the declaration would open up an opportunity for the international community to come to their rescue.
CS Kindiki revealed on Friday that the floods have led to the deaths of 210 people, and some 115 camps in 19 counties are hosting 27,586 people.
Following the Cabinet deliberations and warnings by the meteorology department, the government has ordered people residing in flood-prone areas across five counties in the Coast region to vacate within 24 hours or be forcefully evacuated.
Ruto had on Tuesday while in Mai Mahiu ordered the people living in riparian areas to vacate in 48 hours starting Wednesday when he visited those affected by the deluge.
The directive was endorsed by the Cabinet earlier on Tuesday after the relevant state agencies completed mapping out all the fragile ecosystems around the country.
