Police officers have reportedly raided the home of former President Uhuru Kenyatta's eldest son in Karen.

Uhuru was at the home on Friday, July 21 and expressed dissatisfaction in which the government was targeting his family.

The former Head of State, who spoke to the media, emphasized that he would protect his family even if the current government withdraws his security.

"Is it a crime to associate with Raila, I handed over in peace, as I was supposed to do. I leave this incident to the laws, what do you want with my children, they removed their security now they want to reduce their personal weapons,

"Do whatever you want to do but do not harm my mother. If these are illegal weapons then tell the world but they are licensed so what is the issue? Uhuru questioned.

The former Head of State went on to dare the current regime to withdraw all of their security and to arrest him, but to spare his children and grandchildren.

"I am not demanding any security from them, if they want they want to recall all of them, let them do so," he added.

"Do not think you can intimidate an old woman, children, and grandchildren to intimidate me, if you want me, come I have not run away. Your people know where I am all the time but leave the children alone," Uhuru dared.

He further distanced himself from allegations that he has been funding Azimio la Umoja protests reiterating that he handed over power peacefully and with regard to the law despite being out of favour with President William Ruto's government.

"Is it a crime to associate with Raila? It is my democratic right to support whoever I want. Why intimidate a 90-year-old woman or children? On my association with Raila, am I not supposed to talk to my friends," he posed.

Uhuru also assured that he was not privy to the events going on in the country despite the current regime dragging his name through the mud.

He also questioned Kenya Kwanza's tendency to continuously bring him up in its woes despite his pin-drop silence since handing over power last year, urging the government to focus on addressing Kenyans' issues like he did when he was in power.

Mama Ngina Security Saga

Coincidentally, the surprise raid on one of Uhuru's children by the government came just days after the security team attached to Uhuru's mother, Mama Ngina Kenyatta, was withdrawn without a prior word.

Despite the withdrawal being reversed 24 hours later, many had argued that the move was seen as a direct attempt in Kenya Kwanza to pressure the Kenyattas to convince Azimio la Umoja leader, Raila Odinga, to call off the protests.

Mama Ngina, a former first lady, is widely considered to be deeply influential in the Kenyan political landscape owing to her deep pockets and vast political network.

She, who last made her public appearance on April 20, 2023, has not been vocal regarding the current state of the nation, urging Kenyans to maintain peace and the youth to exercise resilience demonstrated by veteran leaders to achieve political and economic prosperity.

Ruto Accusing Uhuru Of Funding Raila Protests

President William Ruto, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, and Kenya Kwanza politicians have for several days and several times accused Uhuru of funding the anti-government demonstrations, claims Uhuru has denied.

"Naambia hawa handshake brothers, nyinyi mnapanga, mnatumia pesa mulizoiba kupiganisha Kenya mkinunua vijana walete fujo na maafa kwa sababu hamtaki tuendelee kama wakenya (The handshake brothers are using the money they stole to buy youths to cause chaos and deaths because they don't want Kenya to progress)," he claimed  during a roadside rally in Tharaka Nithi.
