Abubakar Abdullahi Returns To TV47

Former TV47 Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abubakar Abdullahi has announced that he is set to return to the Cape Media Limited-owned TV station.
In a short statement on Tuesday, May 13, Abdullahi wrote, "Pleased to announce that I am returning to TV47. I thank the Board for its faith in my abilities".
Viral Tea has learnt and can authoritatively report that Abdullahi will return to the station as a Board Media Advisor. Furthermore, he is set to host a Monday Night political show, meaning he returns to the silver screen.
A source close to Abdullahi has intimated to us that the former CEO has a good working relationship with Cape Media Group owner Professor Simon Gicharu.

"It has been a lifetime honour and privilege to serve as your Chief Editor and subsequently as your Chief Executive Officer for the last four years.
"When I took over the leadership of the company we deeply love, I made a commitment that we would fight for our spot in Kenya's competitive media landscape. I am proud that we have made tremendous progress together," Abubakar stated in part in his letter to colleagues, which he shared on social media.
The former CEO hailed his achievement,s including steering TV47 to be the fastest-growing TV station in Keny,a and as an integral part of his philosophy, he created a humane company that put the interest of its staff members first.
Abdullahi would thereafter reveal to Viral Tea that he was launching a new media outlet dedicated to telling stories regarding Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), called Giving Post Media (thegivingpost.org).
He hailed the upcoming media house as a game-changer, utilising the might of the media to bring about positive change to audiences globally through highlighting stories of NGOs leaving a positive impact on communities as well as bringing social issues to the limelight.
In April 2024, he hailed ADEO, a company he founded, for providing consultancy services to a regional State House, the Media Council of Kenya (MCK), the Postal Corporation of Kenya, the Government Advisory Agency, the Lamu Port-South Sudan-Ethiopia-Transport (LAPPSET) Corridor Project, the International Sustainable Development Agency and a number of NGOs.
Before joining TV47, he worked at Elm TV,iTV and Standard Media Group. He was appointed the TV47 CEO in 2020 to replace Eugene Anangwe, the founding CEO who stepped down for a stint at CNBC Africa as Rwanda's country manager.
He was replaced as CEO by Ken Otwenyo, a veteran media personality who previously worked with Nation Media Group, Royal Media and Standard Group Limited.
