CCTV footage emerged on Saturday, November 2 showing a blow-by-blow account of events that transpired when a thug gained entry into a house in Eastleigh, Nairobi and attacked a young woman.

In the footage seen by Viral Tea, the woman is seen walking up to the door to lock it for the night as the househelp, accused of letting the thug into the house, is seen approaching the main door but turns back as the lady retreats to the interior of the residence.

For most of the 3:47 footage dated November 1, nothing much happens, with the househelp going about her normal routine as the woman could be seen making a couple of trips to the kitchen.

Here is the video:

However, the househelp could later be seen approaching the main door, making no hesitation this time, but compared to the woman who locked the door, the maid could be seen opening it and attending to a man who was the thug all along.

As the woman went to check on the events at the main door, the thug gained entry and brandished a hammer, ordering her to retreat to the kitchen while demanding that she remain silent. As he led her to the kitchen, he grabbed hold of her and appeared to strangle her as she could be heard screaming.

For the rest of the clip, the commotion could not be seen. However, another footage seen by Viral Tea captured another angle of the brazen attack, which occurred as the maid was tending to her duties in the kitchen.

Here is the second clip:

The thug led the woman to the kitchen and violently strangled her as the maid stood by and watched, seemingly unfazed by the woman's screams. The thug was captured on top of her in the commotion as she fought hard to free herself.

Meanwhile, the maid could be seen walking out of the kitchen, all without intervention from her part.

Reports indicated that the owner of the home and her children were not in the house at the time of the incident. The househelp, along with the thug she let into the house, stole cash and gold, leaving the young girl unconscious.

The incident has since been reported to the police, and the girl was discharged from the hospital on Saturday. Police were yet to comment on the matter by the time of publishing this story.

Both clips were shared on social media platforms and sparked uproar among netizens, some of whom stressed the importance of vetting individuals before employing them as house helps, some of who have been accused of colluding with criminal elements to rob Kenyans and harm them.

However, the timing of the incident sparked fresh fears given that this came amidst an active manhunt for the prime suspect believed to be behind the gruesome murders of the three Eastleigh women; a mother, daughter and 13-year-old niece; who were killed on October 23, 2024.

Homicide detectives pursuing the murders identified the prime suspect in the monstrous killings, Hashim Dagane Muhumed whose photo was shared by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) through its social media platforms, with Kenyans with information on the suspect urged to reach out to them.

DCI revealed that it is appealing to anyone who may have information that could assist in the arrest of Hashim Dagane Muhumed to #FichuakwaDCI by calling its toll-free hotline 0800 722 203 or report at any police station.

"Investigations conducted so far have established that Hashim Dagane, 24, was driving the Nissan Note (Reg No. KDQ 718Y) car captured on CCTV cameras picking the victims from their Eastleigh home on October 21, 2024, hours before their bodies were discovered scattered at various locations," DCI stated in part on Sunday, October 27.

"The vehicle was also found abandoned at Wakulima Market near the ENA Coach stage and towed to DCI Headquarters for forensic examination, further linking Hashim Dagane to the killings."
