Additionally, Ramenya will also take up the role of Managing Editor Digital. He will be in charge of quality control and growing the audience for the media house's online assets.

Ramenya has 10 years of media experience, eight of those being in online media.

He holds a degree in journalism and mass communication from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) and a diploma in Public Relations Management from Kenya Institute of Management (KIM).

He sharpened his journalism skills when he joined the Nation Media Group (NMG) as a Business Reporter in 2012 before joining TUKO.co.ke in 2015, then an emerging viral news website, as a writer before rising to the position of managing editor in 2016.

He then rose to Editor-in-Chief and thereafter the Managing Director prior to his exit in April 2023. Replacing him currently is Julia Majale, who was promoted from Managing Editor.

Ramenya shared his excitement on social media about taking over the new position.

“Your most important shot is the next one. Excited to be joining Cape Media to take charge of this important role,” Ramenya celebrated.

He is also the Secretary General of the Digital Publishers Association of Kenya (DPAK). He is also pursuing an MBA from the University of East London.

Majale took Ramenya's place in changes affecting the digital media house's top leadership, as Jacob Otieno Onyango took over as the Managing Editor.
