KTN News anchor Brenda Czeda Radido has bid farewell to the Standard Group Limited based along Mombasa Road in Nairobi after five years.

Radido, who joined the media house in 2018, shared a video showing her in conversation with one of her colleagues at the newsroom before another surprised her with a lush bouquet.

Stunned, she shyly hid her face behind one of the walls, trying to digest what had abruptly happened to her before she recollected herself, fighting back the tears in the process.

Her team members further showered her with tokens of appreciation that also included a cake, doughnuts, and heartfelt notes expressing their admiration and gratitude for working alongside her at the century-old media house.

Here is the video:

Captioning the video, Radido appreciated KTN News for allowing her to shape her identity and improve her craft to what she is today.

The sassy presenter reflected on her time at KTN News, acknowledging the profound impact it had on her personal and professional development.

"And just like that. My five-year stay at the Standard Group KTN News has come to an end. KTN News has built me and made me who l am today the brand BRENDA CZEDA RADIDO," she wrote in part.

"KTN News has taken me to places l never thought of nor imagined. This far l have come it has been God without him l wouldn't be here and who l am today."

She also expressed her gratitude to the individuals and organizations who entrusted her to tell their stories, thus growing her to be a journalist with game-changing skills in the media industry pivoting to digital.

Radido also appreciated her colleagues and superiors for their unwavering support and camaraderie, describing the teamwork at KTN News as unparalleled.

"Everyone who allowed me to tell their stories on this platform at KTN News, asanteni sana. To my workmates and bosses thank you for believing in me.......oooohhhh my goodness l lack words to describe the great teamwork that we had," she added.

Before her tenure at KTN News, Radido honed her skills at the national broadcaster, KBC, where she worked for two years.

Before that, she showcased her talents at Ebru TV from 2013 to 2016. She is yet to reveal her next move.

A graduate of St. Paul's University with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication and Media Studies, Radido's departure marks the end of a remarkable chapter at KTN News.

Standard Group recently lost award-winning media personality Claudia Naisabwa, who left KTN having been a presenter for Str8Up Live every Saturday from 11 am to 1 pm.

This is among a series of exits that have raised eyebrows regarding the state of affairs at the media house, which in 2023 drew nationwide attention for financial woes culminating in the delaying of remittance of salaries to its staff.
