Govt Appoints Charlene Ruto To Ambassadorial Role
She will also work with the Kenya Tissue and Transplant Authority or partners engaged in blood-related events.

Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha has appointed President William Ruto's daughter Charlene Ruto as a Kenya Blood Ambassador.
In a letter by the CS to Charlene and seen by Viral Tea, Nakhumicha recognised Charlene's unwavering contributions to the country through consistent blood donations as well as sensitizing the community regarding the importance of blood donations.
The CS remarked that her active blood donation campaigns have led to more Kenyan youth even expressing their interest in being part and parcel of the campaign.
"The Ministry of Health recognizes and appreciates your selfless contribution to Kenya through your consistent blood donation, advocacy, education and mobilizing your family members, community, peers and the general Kenyan citizens to engage in blood donations," read the letter in part.

"Special recognition is on your efforts to mobilize resources that support blood donation activities and blood establishments."
As a result of the appointment, Charlene will be expected to continue being a voice for her community in terms of getting Kenyans to donate blood to save lives.
She will also work with the Kenya Tissue and Transplant Authority or partners engaged in blood-related events.
"This letter is to appoint you as a Kenya Blood Ambassador and ask that: you continue to be a spokesperson to your friends, Kenyan Youth family, peers and Kenyan citizens and to engage and encourage people to give blood to save lives; from time to time collaborate with the Kenya Tissue and Transplant Authority, or partners in blood-related events including public education and resource mobilization," added the letter.
Donating blood is very important because it saves lives. It can help patients who have accidents, surgeries, or medical conditions such as cancer, blood disorders, or chronic illnesses.
Donating blood can save someone's life or improve their health.
Charlene has been a fierce advocate for equality and fighting for the rights of the less privileged in society. She adopted the "30 Things" programs revolving around three thematic areas; Youth in Action, Youth and the Society and Climate Action.
"My educational and experiential background in communication and hospitality compounds to ensure that the young people’s brilliant and creative ideas become actionable entrepreneurship platforms and that they live a wholesome life i.e career-wise, emotionally, financially, mentally, physically and socially," reads part of Charlene's official website.
However, after President Ruto assumed office, Charlene has come under scrutiny for strengthening her profile with a series of high-level meetings with government officials and some outside the country.
The public relations officer and branding officer at Weston Hotel, Nairobi, which is owned by her father, has been instrumental in ensuring that the Head of State's legacy is secured even after he leaves office at the end of his tenure.
Charlene also made headlines in 2022 on social media alone and has been through it all; being branded "Quickmart Ivanka" by Kenyans On Twitter (KOT), going viral over her smokie kachumbari past business at Daystar University as well as her alleged creation of the Office of the First Daughter, which was questioned by even politicians.
Kenyans questioned how Charlene constituted and ground such an office out of the blue as well as the legalities of doing so, given that it's not a role that has been synonymous with First Daughters of previous presidents.
She did however explain that the office is a private entity and is neither provided for in the Constitution of Kenya nor is it being funded by taxpaying Kenyans. According to her, the office only caters for the activities and programs that she runs.
