Azimio la Umoja leader, Raila Odinga, has been using all manner of tricks to enter estates in Nairobi despite heavy police security stationed strategically at various points during the mass protests.

On Monday, March 27 however, the Spokesperson of the Azimio campaign secretariat Makau Mutua released a video uncovering the behind-the-scenes of Raila's navigation through Lavington into Kawangware and into Kibra from 1.30 pm.

Mutua recorded Raila's command unit in action from inside the former Prime Minister's vehicle revealing the tactics implemented to ensure his mass protests went on as he wished.

Here's the video:

One of Odinga's bodyguards was seated on the co-driver's seat with a walkie-talkie on hand, constantly speaking on it and relying on it for traffic updates during the protests.

Among the alerts he received was the situation in Dagoretti as the convoy snaked its way to Kawangware.

"I am in Dagoretti and the thing is turning to stage two. You are supposed to reach stage two in 20 minutes," instructed the voice on the other end of the walkie-talkie.

Upon inquiry by Mutua, the bodyguard confirmed to him that they had broken through a barrier after certain cars 'had to be removed.'

The male voice on the other end appraised him of the updates regarding possible directions Raila's convoy would take while trying to gain entry into the Central Business District.

"From Kangemi, he may use the Expressway to enter the town," the voice stated. The bodyguard responded, "just go slow if you have already opened because we have the protestors with us."

However, Odinga and Mutua quickly interjected, insisting that his protestors should not be left behind.

The video was however pulled down by Mutua from his social media accounts by the time Viral Tea conducted spot checks.

Meanwhile, ICT Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Dennis Itumbi alleged that the clip was proof that Raila had breached police communications which endangered their security.

"Our agents are reporting that Raila has Police communication radio and the operations had been compromised.

"They are able to move and act based on police communication. We have shared the information with the police for necessary action," he alleged.

Raila for the second successive demonstration failed to get to the CBD, instead snaking through various informal residential areas perceived to be his primed strongholds to drum up support from his followers.
