Musical artist Karwirwa Laura has become the next high-profile name to announce her exit from Royal Media Services (RMS) station, Citizen TV.

She announced her exit from the station on Sunday, September 4 after a three-year stint where she hosted the Bambika show.

During the live broadcast, she further revealed that she was leaving to pursue her post-graduate studies in the United Kingdom (UK).

She will study at Oxford Brookes University, a public university in Oxford, England, which traces its origins to 1865, when it was founded as the Oxford School of Art. It is a new university, having received university status through the Further and Higher Education Act 1992.

Laura appreciated her fans for supporting her as she graced the screen alongside Daniel Githongo alias DJ Gee Gee and James Owidhi alias Timeless Noel.

"It was such an amazing moment this morning.  I'm genuinely amazed at how the Lord has preserved my life. I'm amazed how He has done miracle after miracle in my life."

"Today marks an end to this season into another which is quite intense. I'm not only leaving the show but also leaving everything; my family, friends, and country to go to England to pursue my postgraduate studies, Masters in Public Health at Oxford Brooks University. In a few days, I will be going there to begin the new season," she stated.

The presenter who is famous for her hit song ‘Ujulikane’ featuring Alice Kimanzi, added that she was grateful for the things that God has done in her life even as she takes the next step.

“I am generally amazed at how the lord has preserved my life and how he has done miracle after miracle because I am walking miracle even on how came onto Bambika is a great miracle,” she added.

“All my life, I have experienced God’s grace carrying me. I have felt the warmth of His love. And even here, in this strange change where I have left all to go for more, I trust that He will hold me. And so, I drop the mic, both in media and music for as long as I’ll need to. With a heart full of thanks, to the Almighty and my very supportive loved ones. Oxford, here I come."

Fellow gospel artists sent their emotional tributes to Laura as her momentous career in both media and music won plaudits amongst many.

"On behalf of everyone who loves your Ministry and the flavour that you bring to the show, we are a little sad that you're going but we trust and know that there's a work that God is doing in you. May He prosper you wherever you're going," Peterson Githinji, popularly known as Pitson stated.

She took over the show from Kambua in 2019 when the latter moved to host Rauka Show following Enid Moraa’s exit from the show.

In 2021, she took over from Kambua, who went on a social media break on February 15, 2021, after the demise of her newborn baby named Malachi Manundu Muthiga Mathu, on a day the entire country was hit with a string of deaths, including Former Member of the Kenyan Senate, Mohamed Yusuf Haji.

“I am so blessed to be a mother of two adorable boys; one who's here giving me the best cuddles, and another in heaven, who I'll one-day hold again. Jesus and I are going to have to co-parent on this one. As for my broken heart, I know that someday I will meet Jesus, and it will be made whole,” read her statement in part.
