"I wanted to start the week by telling you about my good friend Nyambura who is popularly known as Avril in her music life. Every time we need any branded merchandise, we call her.

"Most people don’t know that she actually has a degree in Product Design from the University of Nairobi. She applies this by getting us the best designs, screen printing, embroidery, engraved promotional merchandise and gifts for our clients," Otiende revealed, sharing a photo of Avril paying him a visit to his office.

The PR professional added that he was amazed to learn that his team nicknamed her the Queen of Value Adds, stating that the Nikimuona hitmaker "always goes far and beyond what you ordered to include what you didn’t order as an extra!"

"This year, if you’re looking to have anything extra produced, please talk to Nyambura. Thank me at a time of your choosing," Otiende stated while promoting her work.

Avril Profile In A Nutshell

Growing up in Nakuru, the talented singer became interested in music at a very tender age as she was an active performer in drama and music festivals while in secondary school.

After clearing high school, Avril relocated to Nairobi to join the University of Nairobi where she studied design. Her fortunes would change in 2005 when the singer participated in the Jaza Lorry Initiative where she met with Emmanuel Banda of Ogopa Deejays.

Emmanuel attempted to convince Avril to venture into music; however, she was hesitant at the time before she took music seriously during her second year on campus.

She recorded her first single dubbed ‘Mama’ after signing with Ogopa Deejays record label, a song released in 2009 which received much airtime on various radio stations across Kenya. The rest, as they say, is history.

Avril also started her acting career by taking up a role in the second season of Shuga in 2011/2012 playing the character of Miss B’have.

Her character was a celebrity personality who was a firm believer in monogamous relationships. Additionally, in the same series, she was given a minor role as Belinda after the producers of the show saw she could pull it off.

Later in 2013, Avril was also featured as a cast in Noose of Gold playing the role of Corrine, a drug trafficker.

What you also may not have known is that she revealed in an interview in 2018 that she is a Candy Crush fanatic being that she loves to play the game daily, moreso before going to bed at night, as a therapeutic way of unwinding for her.
