The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) on Monday, July 29 released its weekly weather schedule, with Kenyans in select regions advised to brace for cold days and nights as well as rains for the next seven days.

In its weather outlook for July 30 and August 5, the weatherman stated that some regions would experience intermittent cold and cloudy conditions. They include parts of the Central Highlands, Western Kenya, the South-eastern lowlands, and the Rift Valley.

In terms of rains, regions such as the Central Highlands, Western Kenya, the Rift Valley, North-western Kenya, and the Coast would receive rains in both heavy and moderate amounts.

Counties in these regions include; Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka and Nairobi.

Others include; Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru.

Counties of Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia and West Pokot were projected to receive heavy rainfall for the next five days.

Compounding the situation, Kenyans living in the above regions as well as the South-eastern lowlands were advised to expect nighttime temperatures to dip below 10°C.

However, those living in some parts of the Coast, North-Eastern and North-Western Kenya will experience contrasting daytime weather patterns.

"High daytime (max) temperatures of more than 30°C will be experienced in parts of the coast, north-eastern, and north-western Kenya," Kenya Met stated.

The counties expected to experience high daytime temperatures include; Mombasa, Tana-River, Kilifi, Lamu, Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa Isiolo and Kwale.
