President William Ruto has expressed his condolences to the family of Beth Wahito, a Member of County Assembly (MCA) from Nyandarua County who passed on following a grisly road accident along the Nakuru-Nairobi Highway.
Wahito died at 11 pm on Saturday, June 21, while heading home after attending an official county government committee meeting in Naivasha.
In his message, the Head of State remembered the late Wahito as a loyal supporter of the ruling party, United Democratic Alliance (UDA), and as an advocate of forward-thinking politics.
"We join the family and the people of Nyandarua County in mourning the passing of Mheshimiwa Beth Wahito. She was a solid grassroots mobiliser and a steadfast UDA supporter who subscribed to progressive politics.

"Beth will best be remembered for the many fresh ideas that transformed the lives of the people of Njabini. Rest In Peace, Mheshimiwa Beth," he wrote.
According to Nyandarua County Assembly Speaker, Stephen Wachira Waiganjo, who confirmed the incident, the MCA was struck by a Guardian Angel bus while trying to cross the road at an intersection and died instantly.
"She led with courage, strength and determination. She was not afraid to speak up for what she believed was right and worked tirelessly to uplift the lives of the underserved in her community," he stated in his condolence message.
Before her death, Wahito served as a UDA coordinator in Kinangop. Over her 30-year political career, she held multiple leadership positions across various parties. She began as a Youth Leader in the Democratic Party (DP) and later served as the NARC–Kenya Chairperson in Nyandarua.
