Khalif Kairo Speaks On Reported Arrest: Every Business Owner Must Face Problems
Kairo was reportedly sought after on suspicion of obtaining money by false pretence that he would deliver high-end cars to a client

Police on Tuesday, December 3 reportedly arrested popular Nairobi motor vehicle entrepreneur Joseph Kairo Wambui, alias Khalif Kairo, the events igniting speculation and huge concern amongst his followers.
Kairo was reportedly sought after on suspicion of obtaining money by false pretence that he would deliver high-end cars to a client, only for him to allegedly disappear with their cash.
Whereas Viral Tea could not independently and conclusively confirm the arrest allegations, Kasarani Sub-County criminal investigations officer Justus Ombati told Nation.Africa that Kairo was detained at the Kasarani Police Station having been accosted at one of his car yards in the city.
"Yes, he is here. We arrested him today after he pocketed millions from a buyer and has been elusive to either refund the money or deliver the cars. There are more complainants who have turned up and we have opened a file on him," Ombati said.

Kairo, who is also a social media personality, is at the centre of allegations that his company failed to deliver a Range Rover worth Ksh26 million, claims that reignited debates about his business practices and financial stability.
Speculation about his arrest initially arose when some netizens noticed reduced activity on his social media accounts, prompting questions about his whereabouts and the state of his business.
The arrest rumours began after Kairo was accused of failing to honour a business agreement, leading the other party to take legal action. His silence on social media added fuel to the fire, leaving followers concerned.
However, Kairo soon reappeared, sharing a post alongside his partner, Maria Wavinya, to dismiss the allegations of his arrest.
He was then reported to the police by the customer who claimed that he had already wired the money to the Kai & Karo Limited CEO, but he failed to deliver the vehicle. Although Kairo’s lawyer was said to have pleaded for his release, the police officers were hesitant to let him go.
According to the preliminary reports, Kairo claimed that he paid his supplier, but a debt of Ksh6 million caused the delivery delays.
Additionally, a sworn statement by Waithaka and Muthusi Advocates claimed that a customer filed a complaint against Kairo, alleging he failed to deliver a motor vehicle worth Ksh2.52 million purchased through his company, Kai and Karo. The car was to be delivered within 45 days, but Kairo reportedly failed to meet this deadline and ignored the client’s calls.
The advocate described Kairo’s failure to honour the contract as a serious breach of contract and a violation of the client’s rights. Kairo was then instructed to fulfil his obligations and deliver the vehicle in pristine condition within seven days, as per the Agreement for the Importation and Sale of Motor Vehicle.
As of Tuesday, he addressed the challenges facing his business, maintaining that the hurdles he faces are part of the entrepreneurial journey.
"These challenges that you see me go through are very normal in business especially when a company is growing. Every big entrepreneur at one point must face litigation or money problems especially when God is taking you to higher levels. To the ones reaching out, I am 100% okay and I will overcome," he assured.
