Renowned radio personality, Mwalimu Rachel, has joined Radio Africa Group (RAG) after she parted ways with NRG Radio where she worked for six years.

She shared news of her exit from NRG on Tuesday, March 26 via her social media handles, expressing her gratitude for her time at the urban radio station.

While anticipating the next stage of her career, she added that she looked forward to revealing her next chapter to her followers.

"Indeed it is true that I have resigned from NRG Radio. It has been an incredible journey of 6 years and I'm grateful for my time there.

"Looking forward, while I bid farewell to my colleagues at NRG Radio, I am eagerly anticipating the next chapter in my career. I look forward to announcing my new place of work and embarking on this exciting journey," she announced.

With confidence and enthusiasm, she promised to continue delivering engaging content and connecting with her audience, albeit in a different capacity.

"To all my amazing listeners and esteemed clients, rest assured my bell will be back on the airwaves soon!" she assured.

Moments after her announcement, Homeboyz Radio, owned by Radio Africa, took to their social media platforms to congratulate her and welcome her to the media house.

The announcement was further made by Group Chief Operating Officer Martin Khafafa, who disclosed that Mwalimu Rachel was a renowned and very talented broadcaster and that he was happy she had joined.

"We are excited at the opportunity we are going to give her to join Radio Africa Group which is the home of the country's best radio talent," he told entertainment journalist Kalondu Musyimi in an in-house interview.

"We will give her maximum support and audiences on social are very excited about the prospect of her joining. We look forward to serving our audiences and advertisers with another great acquisition at Radio Africa."

Regarding RAG's choice of Mwalimu Rachel, Khafafa extolled the virtues of both Rachel and the company to which he saluted the latter for allowing budding presenters both digital and mainstream to thrive.

"I think Radio Africa has provided the greatest online talent from Maina Kageni, Mwalimu King'ang'i. So people realize that Radio Africa is the place to realise their air potential and talents," he added.

It is yet to be established which station she will be joining in the Radio Africa company known for popular radio stations such as Kiss FM, Classic 100 and East FM as well as the Star Newspaper.

Mwalimu joined the entertainment industry 11 years ago when she joined Homeboyz Radio as an intern.  She later landed another role at Ghetto Radio, hosting the late-night shows.

She is also an event emcee, a talent manager, a motivational speaker, a voice-over artist, and an entrepreneur.
