Liz Wambui Jackson, a journalist attached to Eddie Butita-owned Stage Presence Media (SPM) Buzz, became an overnight celebrity following her behind-the-scenes meeting with Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary (CS) Alfred Mutua at State House.

The brief meeting was captured in a video the 23-year-old shared on her social media pages and saw her shaking Mutua's hand following the press conference which featured a joint address between President William Ruto and visiting South African president, Cyril Ramaphosa.

A different clip shared by the media house showed Jackson fielding an interesting question to President Ruto after both heads of state agreed to lift the visa requirements between the two countries, meaning Kenyans will travel to South Africa visa-free for up to 90 days a year.

Watch the video:

She had sought clarity on the matter of growing the culture, arts and entertainment between the two nations, with Kenyan filmmakers now finding it easier to travel to South Africa to film their content owing to its good scenery.

Mutua, who was seated at the very front, could be seen turning his head back partially before taking a full glimpse of Jackson, who by then had finished fielding her question to the President.

During the subsequent interaction, Jackson could be seen apparently requesting Mutua's contacts, an action which set the internet on fire, with Kenyans following it up with a series of memes and funny comments.

"She was my girlfriend, right now she could be single again but certain careers as journalism and sales, is a no go zone if you want a good woman," one user commented.

"I see Lillian (referring to Lillian Nganga) got a replacement quickly...But the good thing is that you shared one thing in common; your first names start with L and you will also share kuni moja. Anyway being early is best and if it doesn't work out, unaoga haraka na unarudi soko (you clean up and go back to the market)," added another.

A similar video sent to Viral Tea's newsdesk also included Suna East MP Junet Mohamed during a past address declaring "Hiyo imeenda. Hiyo imeenda kabisa...(It's gone. It's gone completely...)"

At SPM Buzz, Jackson works as a host of the Buzz With Stars shows. She also hosts red-carpet events and heads the media house's Digital department.

"Producer Eddie Butita is the most amazing boss. He has taught me to be patient, to take my craft seriously, to utilise my numbers, and keep growing them. He has also taught me how to brand myself.

"What I hate most about my job is that I always have to be on my phone most of the time which can be draining," she explained in a recent interview with the Nation.

Relying on referrals, she explained that she began her journey as an actress when she appeared in films such as Hullaballoo Estate and Anda Kava on Maisha Magic as well as working on a few clips with Njugush Creatives.

She is also a Lifestyle and Travel Content creator with her own YouTube channel which captures her documenting her expeditions to the Coast, Maasai Mara, Wajir among others.

Notably, her colleague, Betty Kithinji (Miss Kithinji) went viral after she was captured doing live reporting of President Ruto's swearing-in ceremony on Tuesday, September 13 when she was surprised by the Head of State recognising her from the ceremonial vehicle while greeting a fully packed Kasarani Stadium.
