Socialite and beauty entrepreneur Faith Makau, alias Amber Ray and her businessman lover, Kennedy Rapudo, spent two days in Dubai on a layover basis from their vacation in Mauritius after their return was interrupted by the since-concluded Kenya Airways pilots' strike.

Amber shared photos and videos of her stay in Dubai on her Instagram page showing off the luxurious life she was relaxing in during her stay in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) city.

On Thursday, November 11, she released a video showing Rapudo proposing to her during their exclusive candlelight dinner, only days after she denied rumours that the two were officially an engaged couple.

"Comments fupi fupi tafadhali (short comments please), it's a yes," she captioned.

In the video, she showed off a huge diamond finger to let her Instagram in-laws that she is officially off the market.

Businessman Kennedy Rapudo also put up a video, celebrating her lover with a caption that says; "Diamonds are forever".

The couple had flown to the popular island nation for their vacation to mark her birthday as she turned a year older on Friday, November 4. However, their return to Kenya faced hurdles as the couple found themselves among over 10,000 passengers affected by the strike of the KQ pilots, which began the following morning.

Taking to Instagram, Amber lamented that the couple could not get through to the airline for confirmation of their flight on Monday, November 7. They later got wind of the crisis through social media, forcing them to take additional steps.

"I know Kenya Airways to be my pride and joy. Today however we were left stranded as we could not reach them for our flight confirmation which is due tomorrow.

"We later heard there is a strike via social media, and since we could still not reach them. We figured we should organise ourselves at least we don't pile up stress at home as I believe many others are already doing," she wrote in part.

Amber and Rapudo decided to book another flight through Dubai, which allowed them a two-day layover so that they could recover from the partying they had in Mauritius.

The airline later contacted them to offer a refund of Ksh15,000, which set off her wrath as they had paid almost Ksh340,000 for the ticket to Mauritius.

On Wednesday, October 26, photos and a video shared by her sister that went viral online left many insinuating that the two were on the verge of walking down the aisle after Rapudo had paid a visit to Amber's family.

She had however dismissed the ceremony as an official engagement and that the visit was only to let her parents know that they are actively dating.

The ceremony was an indication of the two burying their differences which dominated gossip headlines in late August when they had broken up with each other.

The businessman is Amber's fourth man she has been in a relationship with this year.
