Sultry media personality and former NTV's Teen Republik presenter, Tracy Wanjiru on Wednesday, August 16 gave her fans an insight into her life as a mother, two years after she gave birth.

She shared a video on her Instagram page depicting her doing her daily duties such as shopping, but with a twist as she was perusing the various brands of baby diapers for purchase before she was caught off-guard by a man she met in the supermarket.

Thereafter, during the date which the two subsequently went for, she struggled to put back the toys while reaching out for a power bank in her bag as well as forgot to switch from baby content that almost dominated her YouTube home feed.

Here's the video:

In a statement, she described the two years of carefully concealing the pregnancy and birth from the public as the best she's ever had, even though she noted an increase in shopping for essentials mostly for the child and the toys being part of her accessories in her bag.

In addition, Wanjiru took note of changes affecting her body since giving birth and during the stages of her pregnancy.

"This has been the best two years of my life, in the best hood ever, motherhood!

"Where shopping runs end up being 85% your child’s (ok maybe more), where your bag is no longer yours (acts as a secondary storage space for your child’s toys and other items they see valuable), where your YouTube playlist is no longer what you used to jam to and is now replaced by the best melodies and where your body is no longer the same because you carried and birthed a little angel which is a true symbol of the embodiment of your strength, resilience, and devotion," she described.

Wanjiru nonetheless expressed gratitude to God for choosing her to bear one of life's greatest responsibilities of siring a child who would continue her family's generational bloodline.

"I am grateful to God every day that He chose me to carry this great responsibility, this greatest act of selflessness and to enjoy this true labour of love.

"I used to hear this all the time, that being a mother is the best thing that will ever happen to any woman, but I wasn’t prepared for how true it is and also much more it truly is. I love being a mommy. If you didn’t know now you know," she added.

However, she did not disclose the gender of her newborn child nor did she reveal who the father was.

In November 2022, she broke her social media silence after a one-year hiatus from posting on her Instagram page, which is followed by more than 146,000 people to date and most of whom had expressed concern about where she had disappeared to.

“It has been a long time coming, almost a year, and to be honest with you I struggled to come back (on social media) and the reason is that I don’t know how things work on social media anymore. How do people talk, and dress, these transitions are going crazy.

“I received a lot of DMs from people wondering if I am alive, whether my mental health is okay, and basically what I have been up to, but I am here to tell you that this has been the most fulfilling year of my life, and the reason being I was able to self-reflect and do a lot of introspection,” she explained.

Wanjiru's move to conceal her pregnancy and childbirth for two years was one of the first instances Kenyan celebrities and personalities opt to hide away their major life developments from the hawk-eyed social media users as compared to her counterparts fond of announcing pregnancies and childbirths using several unique ways.
