June Tuto is one of several children of Kenya's politicians known to live little-known but exciting lives away from the politics of their parents and have the privilege of attending the world's best educational institutions.

The 28-year-old is the daughter of Jubilee Party Vice Chairperson David Murathe and has established her own exquisite lifestyle coupled with fashion, travel, and fame. She is the second born in a family of three; her sister Waturi Wakairu Wamboye and her brother Davidson Gatuhi Wakairu. 

She was born and raised in Kenya where she attended her primary and secondary education. However, she moved to Spain for studies at the Marbella International University Center (MIUC) where she was involved in student leadership and had a stint as the President of the Student board.

After her Bachelor's degree in Arts- Fashion /Apparel Design at Middlesex University, Tuto then moved to the United States (US) and joined the prestigious University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she graduated with a Masters degree in Digital Marketing in 2020.

She worked as a designer at

In Stockholm, she has partnered with Kenko design and FC Design based in Reykjavik, Iceland.

"As she grew older she used fashion as a form of expression through various stages in her life. From her sense of African Glam to modern-day streetwear, she has managed to fuse the two and create her own brand image- Street GLAM.

"Having showcased her line in various fashion shows around the world like the Netherlands fashion week, Fashion exhibitions in Venice Beach California and Melrose L.A. The brand is increasing in popularity on an international level," the company explains on its website.

Tutto by June relies on a special marketing strategy whereby she releases new limited styles of her clothing brand only once a year, in the month of June which happens to be her birthday month.

The fashion line has proved to be her biggest stepping stone as she has been able to showcase her brands at some of the world’s iconic stages such as the Netherlands Fashion Week, Fashion Exhibitions in Venice Beach California and Melrose in Los Angeles.

"Focusing on ethical and sustainable approaches in fashion production, the brand launches a new collection only once a year in the month of June #ONLYINJUNE, which is available all year round for pre-order, including a limited edition accessory drop in Autumn and Spring," the company adds.

Other than her fashion line, Tuto's life is characterised by fun and fame, and activities such as travelling for adventure which is evident in the 'soft life' exhibited by women from wealthy backgrounds who have a penchant for the finer things on offer, in line with their feminine character.

During her travels, she has visited Netherlands, Spain, Italy and Portugal among many others. She also runs a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) back in Kenya known as Vijana Amkeni which seeks to mobilize the youth towards social causes.

She has also written one e-book titled You deserve to be dressed which is all about matters of fashion design.

Tuto first made headlines in 2020 when she hosted a lavish birthday party at her family ranch in Kiambu. The event was characterised by a white theme on a sunny Sunday coupled with a live band, flashy sports cars, elegant fashion, a gourmet buffet and exotic champagne to top it off.

Graced by friends and family, the bourgeoisie-attended occasion saw personalities such as James Muigai, former Capital FM presenter Miano Muchiri, Millu Elba, and Linda Ndiritu among the invited guests.

Two years later, Tuto threw another birthday party at Trademark Hotel in Nairobi as she turned 28. This was attended by Murathe, her father, her close friends and her family including her brothers.

The dress code for the gents was mart casual while the ladies chose to wear classy evening dresses.

Past reports had indicated that Tuto was in a relationship with a foreign man, and despite spot checks by Viral Tea showing no photos of her with the individual, she shared a snippet on Friday, September 23 showing her with an unidentified man whose face she concealed with a love emoji.

Murathe's other daughter is named Waturi Wakairu Wamboye, who got married to the love of her life, Ernest Wakhusama, at a colourful and private wedding held at the Brackenhurst Hotel in Limuru in 2012. The ceremony was attended by some of Murathe's friends such as George Muhoho, then Embakasi MP Ferdinand Waititu as well as former Limuru MP George Nyanja, James Nyoro, among others.
