Inside Luxury Lifestyle Of Socialite Starlet Wahu Murdered In Airbnb [PHOTOS]

Before reports emerged regarding her brutal murder inside a South B, Nairobi Airbnb apartment in an alleged case of a date gone wrong, the name Starlet Wahu Mwangi was only commonly associated with controversial Nairobi pastor, Prophet Victor Kanyari, who is her brother.

Wahu was killed inside the apartment with K24 revealing CCTV footage showing her entering the Airbnb apartment in the company of a man, John Matara, who is currently in custody as a prime suspect in the murder.

The 26-year-old socialite's lifeless body was found by police who broke into the room which was locked from outside, soaked in blood and having multiple bruises as well as stab wounds all around the thighs, a visible sign of a scuffle in the apartment.

According to the police, Wahu bled to death from the wounds, while Matara fled the scene with a stab wound of his own and was tracked down by Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives to Mbagathi Hospital where he was found undergoing treatment.

Other than being related to Pastor Kanyari, Wahu was also known by the nickname Icey Wife and was a prominent figure in the beauty world, known for selling designer clothes and shoes.

Viral Tea has exclusively managed to gain access to her private Instagram account where her posts showcase her vibrant personality, with a particular emphasis on her fashion sense and zest for life.

Her very last post on the platform was on November 20, 2023, showing her taking a mirror selfie and showcasing her wholly black outfit coupled with black boots. She captioned it "Satisfy your soul, not society".

Three days ago, she posted on her Instagram stories holding a bouquet of roses and another of her clutching her handbag while seated in the driver's seat of a luxurious Mercedes-Benz vehicle.

Going by her posts, Wahu was very attractive and had inviting looks that would resemble a woman who is way out of the leagues of many Kenyan men.

Despite her coming from a Christian family, she was not the conservative type after she was known for posting raunchy photos of her waspy figure, going out and piercings on her nipples, a matter which made her gain social media fame as far back as 2015.

Pastor Kanyari Speaks On Wahu Starlet Murder

Pastor Kanyari has since broken his silence regarding his sister's murder, stating that they last spent time together on New Year's Eve (December 31, 2023) and indicating that the man linked to her murder was not known to him.

“I am heartbroken; she was doing so well in life. We last met on Christmas, and on December 31, we spent time together at home. We had not seen the man before.

"We learned about him after her death. This is so tragic for us, the family, and even her friends. May her soul rest in peace,” Pastor Kanyari mourned in a statement reported by Nairobi News.

The relationship between Wahu and her suspected killer is being probed. According to postmortem results, Wahu died as a result of haemorrhage, which is the loss of blood from a damaged blood vessel, and her body also showed signs of strangulation.

Among the items recovered included a Samsung phone, condoms, the victim's clothes, bhang, a bottle of alcohol and a bloody kitchen knife in the room, as well as the HIV test kit which indicated that both Wahu and Matara had undergone testing for their HIV status beforehand.

According to reports, she is set to be laid to rest today, January 6, at her parents’ home in Kamulu.
