NTV senior political journalist Kennedy Murithi Bundi has marked Saturday, December 31 as his last day at the Nation Media Group (NMG).
Murithi was on Monday, November 14 appointed to Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki's administration as a political advisor during Muthomi's second term in office.
In his new capacity, he will be expected to provide political direction to the Governor as well as monitor political trends both in the county and in the National Government among others.

"Today marks my last day at NTV. It has been a good journey. I leave a happy man, knowing I have left a mark in journalism," he stated.
"I'll now be Muthomi Njuki's political advisor and will also deal with media relations."
Murithi is making a comeback in Governor Njuki's government after he served as the county's Communications Director in 2017. However, he didn't stay long and moved to NMG, the place where he started as a reporter at QTV.
At the time of his appointment, the Masinde Muliro University (MMU) Graduate worked as a senior political reporter at NTV after he was promoted from QTV and had been holding the role since June 2016.
Murithi was picked alongside Gideon Gitonga Thuranira as the economic advisor, David John Mbaya (County Attorney Nominee), Alexander Micheni Muratha (Acting County Secretary) and Stephen Nthiga Mitugo (Acting Director of Human Resources) to serve in Governor Njuki's administration.
The Governor also nominated 16 individuals to serve in the position of County Chief Officers including Aggrey Karani Riungu for Medical Services and ICT, Benson Kimathi Njeru (Energy and industry) as well as Ignatius Mugambi Kigwari (Revenue and Resource Mobilization).
Other appointees were Peter Kimathi Njeru (Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries), Kelly Karimi Rwigi (Gender, Children and Social Services) and James Mbae Karuku (Land, Physical Planning and Housing) among others.
Murithi joins the likes of NTV's Salim Swaleh, former Citizen TV News Anchor Hussein Mohamed, TV47's Karen Karimi Knaust, Citizen TV's Nicky Gitonga, KTN's Dennis Onsarigo and Ramogi FM's Charles Odhiambo among other journalists appointed to government roles.
