Kenyan driver, Kim Musau, has added another massive achievement in his expedition of Europe by reaching the northernmost point of Europe in North Cape, Norway, nine months after starting his journey from Nairobi.

Musau has been updating his followers on social media regarding the one-of-a-kind expedition that redefined the rules of exploration, going from Kenya to Europe by road, traversing South and Western African countries.

Musau, who goes by the nickname, AlphaLandRover, has been crisscrossing Europe in his trusty Land Rover Defender and decided to test himself by covering an 11,887-kilometer journey by road that would usually take 180 hours if he opted for a non-stop flight.

His journey to North Cape, as he highlighted in an X (formerly Twitter) thread, was far from easy.

"Interesting meet-ups, unplanned hikes and much more along the way. The ice-capped peaks became more as I ventured North. Waterfalls coming directly from melting Glacier, watching phenomenal stuff right in front of my eyes," he began.

Musau visited Nord Norge, the northern side of the world, before embarking on to the Arctic Circle where the sun shines for 24 hours and darkness goes for 24 hours at different times of the year, coupled with more tunnels and ferry crossings.

During his trip, he revealed that he missed a ferry and was forced to wait for nine hours, for another!

"Lofoten islands came with a missed ferry and a looong wait (arguably the most beautiful and most visited part of Norway). It's a 4-hour sail, 2 ferries per day.

"Missed the 4 pm and had to wait for 1 am," he went on, cautioning his followers to plan properly by booking in advance for the ferry ride.

Musau marvelled in awe at the Aurora Northern Lights at Lofoten Islands, which he termed a "great possibility". He then set off to Nordkapp, where the north becomes more flat, that is no more ferry crossing and only a few tunnel roads.

He was treated to an amazing view of Nordkapp, English for North Cape, completing a perilous journey to the topmost part of Europe.

"Arriving in Nordkapp was very emotional. Very! Such a dream for any Overlander and here I am. With an old engine roaring," he expressed.

To mark his achievement, Kim Musau hoisted the Kenyan flag in Norway and set camp there before declaring that he would proceed to Finland as his European adventure enters the homestretch.

Getting from Kenya to Europe was tough for Musau. He had to transverse through South, Central, West and North Africa and his dream almost went up in smoke in June when he was denied entry to Senegal.

At the time, his entry denial caused a storm back home as Senegal was supposed to be visa-free for Kenyan citizens.

In the end, he decided to reroute his journey through Guinea Bissau.  Around the same month, while progressing through Spain on his ambitious journey towards Norway, Musau revealed his goal of covering 400,000 kilometres by driving.

The intrepid traveller revealed that he managed to accomplish this feat while spending less than Ksh1 million on fuel and car-related services.

Musau at one point shared a snapshot of a North Cape fuel pump selling petrol at Ksh328 per litre, more than the price of Super Petrol in Kenya which stands now at Ksh211.64 per litre.

As he embarked on this adventure in January, Musau's original aspiration was to explore 30 European countries.

His feat has been going viral, attracting the attention of among others, CNN international correspondent, Larry Madowo who on Sunday, July 2 had a chance meeting with Musau during his daring expedition from Nairobi to Portugal in six months.
