Comedian David Oyando, alias Mulamwah, has returned to radio through Milele FM merely one week after he announced his departure from the Mediamax Networks-owned station.

On Tuesday, August 8, Mulamwah shocked his fans when he revealed that he was stepping down from his position at Milele FM, and through his management, had disclosed that he was leaving the station due to divergent viewpoints on certain aspects of his contract.

"I have officially quit Milele FM after 1 year & 3 months of service. We could not agree on some aspects of the contract and the scope of work hence calling it quits," Mulamwah wrote at the time.

Mulamwah expressed gratitude towards Mediamax for the opportunity they provided him, while simultaneously extending his thanks to his supportive colleagues during his time there.

He also expressed his appreciation to his fans and assured them that they would continue to connect through other platforms.

However, in a statement on Tuesday, August 15, he announced that he resolved the differences that made him resign in the first place, thus leading to his return.

He thanked his fans for their support and assured them that he was ready to entertain them once again.

"Back on MILELE FM, we had discussions and came to an agreement. Mambo iko safi kabisa !! Show Konki continues 1-4 pm Monday to Friday.

"Asanteni mafans (thank you to my fans), extension it is, you did it. KONKIIII. Itambe MILELE," he wrote.

Mulamwah had served on air at Milele FM for one year and three months before his initial departure, which ignited waves of attention and speculation regarding his exit.

Many were curious regarding what happened behind the scenes that led to the departure as well as the next steps that awaited the content creator.

Mulamwah joined the station in May 2022, marking a pivotal moment in his career.

“God is great, finally on radio – Milele FM. It has always been my dream to one day be on radio, thanks to all Konki fans who always believed in me and supported me in my craft from scratch. To everyone else out there, always do you,” Mulamwah shared in a statement.

Mulamwah's return to the Mediamax radio station comes hours after veteran radio presenter, Alex Mwakideu, defaulted on his announcement on social media that he was leaving Milele FM after five years.

"Yooh, I'm still at Milele FM. I had no idea you all love me like this. Thank you for all the phone calls and text messages, we had a small misunderstanding, which has been sorted. So we are now good to go! Itambe Milele!" he wrote.

Both the returns of Mwakideu and Mulamwah after their resignation from the station raised chatter among some media circles who were surprised by an unprecedented turn of events that have seen radio stations recall their star performers hours after announcing that they had resigned.

This is usually because when celebrated journalists leave the TV and radio stations that they once called home for green pastures, it is usually for good, and very few occasions have seen media houses rehire their top journalists.
