Sabina Chege Removed From Parliament Position- Wetangula Rules
Replacing her now is Embakasi West Member of Parliament Mark Mwenje.

National Assembly Speaker, Moses Wetangula, has ruled in favour of Azimio Members of Parliament to remove Nominated Member of Parliament Sabina Chege as the National Assembly Deputy Minority Whip.
Speaker Wetangula confirmed her dismissal from the role on Wednesday, October 25.
Replacing her now is Embakasi West Member of Parliament Mark Mwenje.
"Mark Mwenje is the Deputy Whip of the Azimio coalition with effect from today. Not any other time.

"If there are any privileges and trappings of that office, they will land on him from today," Wetangula ruled.
Earlier, Jubilee Parliamentary Group urged Chege to remain in her position in the National Assembly, terming the appointment of Mwenje to the position as invalid.
“The Azimio Coalition has not followed any procedural process to make such changes,” the group, who were joined by party National Executive Council members, said in a statement read by Nakuru Town West MP Samuel Arama.
He added that the meeting held at Ngong Racecourse on May 22, 2023, at which Mwenje was endorsed, was declared null and void by the Internal Dispute Resolution Committee of the party and the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal.
Arama further claimed that former Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni has no legal, political or moral authority to represent Jubilee, affirming that he stands expelled from the party.
He noted that Kioni is a beneficiary of multiple conservatory orders from the courts, including one Kioni claimed had dismissed a petition by Chege which sought to overturn a decision by Azimio la Umoja to replace her with Mwenje.
"We now demand that Speaker Moses Wetangula ratifies the decision and allow Hon. Mark Mwenje to serve," stated the Kioni-led Jubilee Party.
Azimio on Tuesday, May 30 announced Mwenje as Chege's replacement during the Azimio la Umoja Parliamentary Group meeting.
"We recognize Hon. Mwenje as a committed, consistent, energetic and youthful fighter who has shown the will to stand up for the people and the party. We have no doubt that he will prove equal to the task," National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi, stated.
Wandayi on Wednesday wrote to Wetangula communicating Azimio's decision to remove Chege as their Deputy Minority Whip, despite opposition from Jubilee MPs.
Sabina Chege got the backing of Kenya Kwanza and Jubilee MPs while ODM and Wiper lawmakers affiliated with Azimio called on the Speaker to accept her removal following communication from Minority leader Opiyo Wandayi.
Wetangula had clarified that the request seeking the removal of the Nominated MP as the Deputy Minority Whip would be fair and based on the rule of law.
Azimio Coalition accused the Nominated MP of defying the official party position on numerous occasions and associating with Kenya Kwanza.
"The best thing I did was not to run away from them but just think bigger picture about Kenya. As they plan to remove me as Deputy minority whip Mr Speaker, I hope that you look at me with a better eye," she said during the National Prayer Breakfast held at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi on Wednesday, June 7.
"There is nothing wrong I have done. The only thing I have done is to think about Kenya first and not myself. Hopefully, Kenya is going to rise."
