Radio presenter Shaquille O'Neill Oduk, alias Shaq the Yungin, has announced his departure from NRG Radio after six years.

The presenter took to his Instagram page to share an official statement announcing that he had formally resigned from the urban radio station.

"After 6 years working at NRG Radio, I hereby announce my resignation from the company. I am grateful for the opportunity given to me by the management. I bid farewell to my colleagues, management, and most importantly to the fans who have tuned in every day for the last 6 years while I was on air. As I look forward to the next step in my career, I hope and pray for new opportunities that will come my way and ask for your support," he stated.

"Thank You again to all the listeners and clients who have trusted and believed in me over the years."

In his personalised message to his followers, Shaq expressed his deep appreciation for the time spent at the station, while also hinting at exciting prospects.

The message was filled with gratitude and optimism while he also expressed how tough it was to reach the decision to leave the station.

Though he did not mention where he was heading next, Shaq hinted at remaining in the media industry for as long as he saw fit and advised his followers to stay on the alert for his next move.

"Crazy I know… New vibes Hardest choice that I’ve been thinking of making for a minute but yeah, I’m gonna miss y'all on this side! God bless all who were part of the journey. When you have a shark in a fish bowl it’s gonna break it one day.

"Don’t guess where I’m going, I’m the only one that knows! see you in a bit, we outside," he wrote.

Before joining NRG Radio, Shaq co-hosted the show YOLO on KTN. While in college, he was also a member of the USIU Radio team. Besides media, Shaq is also an influencer.

In December 2022, Shaq stirred gossip circles regarding a love triangle involving him, his former colleague Sean Preezy and TikTok content creator Cindy Kipsang, better known as Cindy K, whom Shaq had previously dated.

Nonetheless, the exit comes roughly two months after NRG Radio bid goodbye to two of its major presenters, Mwalimu Rachel and DJ Xclusive, who hosted a show together for six years.

Both of them joined Radio Africa Group's (RAG) Kiss 100 FM where they currently host a drive show.
